I just buy stuff whenever I see it or think of it. I've bought everything I'm buying this year already, but didn't plan it that way.

In recent years, it's often been a last minute rush to get things organised after finishing work for the holidays. However this year I've already started buying bits here and there (mainly online), such as the toys for my little niece and a couple of books for my Gran and Ma whilst they're on offer. So hopefully I'll get things sorted ahead of time.....

I do my comparison shopping in October, but don't do the actual buying until after Thanksgiving. Plus I make a lot of presents (cross stitched pictures and beaded jewelery, which the girls in the family love!), so I don't have to buy a lot.

Thank God for amazon.com, though. I find great stuff through them...not just books.

Generally I do most of my serious shopping on a week by week basis in the month leading up to Christmas, but if I see something on sale that I know someone wants or if it's something fairly expensive I'll buy it up to a couple of months earlier so all the costs don't pile up right around the holidays.

I just did a round of Christmas shopping today in fact.
