When Did You Fall In and Out Of Love With Trek

Fell in love with the recent movie which prompted me to watch TOS and the first 7 movies. Bones is my favorite character.

I have a hard time watching TNG as a lot of the episodes just kind of bore me and I have a hard time getting deeply invested in any of the characters on there. I absouelty can't stand Troi. Never seen an episode of DSP or Voyager and about 2 of Enterprise which I found kind of okay. I liked seeing a female Vulcan.

I'd been totally burned out on TNG, did a fast rewatch through Season 2 and said, "Ugh, I don't want to watch all that again." Took many weeks off after the first two eps of season 3 and Sunday watched "The Survivors." Enjoyed it immensely. I think I'm going to go back, but only a few eps at a time or one a week to avoid burnout.

In love: Star Trek II. I watched as a really little kid TOS reruns, but Star Trek II is when I became a fan.

Out of love: Star Trek (2009) is when Trek was officially dead to me, and when I realized that all that came before, the golden age (to me) of TNG\DS9\VOY no longer matters because Trek was officially rebooted (Yes I know it's the alternate universe and "prime universe" still lives on, but they will never make another TNG\DS9\VOY-based movie, miniseries, or show. Ever. ) I just don't have the same emotional connection to Trek 2009 as I did to star trek from Star Trek II to VOY.

And Yes, before I am accused of being a Trek 2009 hater, I thought Star Trek 2009 was a good movie as a movie, with awesome FX and was well acted, but to me it was just another remake of something from my childhood or teen years. It is just a movie based on Star Trek, not actually Star Trek to me. I am that small minority that believed Trek didn't need a reboot

It was TNG that I first watched, but it was DS9 that made me fall in love with Star Trek. Voyager's sixth season made me walk away.
