What's your preferred age range for dating?

I'm 25 now, and I've dated guys who were two years younger to fifteen years older. Right now I'm seeing someone who's 18 months older than I am.... well right now (that might change in the future) I wouldn't date someone younger anymore. Guys my age are okay, but I prefer them a little older, at least a year.

I'm 24, so I'd date anyone between ages 20 - c. 25. I don't think it would make much sense to date someone older (not that they'd be interested anyoway). But I don't wanna be dating a teenager either.

Mine is from 10% younger than myself to 40% older than myself. This formula should work whatever my age happens to be.

Mine is pretty backwards from yours. I'm 39. Theoretically speaking, because I'm married, I'd date from 25-40, or about 35% younger to about 2.5% older.

I really don't understand 40+ year olds who expect people in their late teens to want to go out with them

I'm not quite that range yet, but I get hit on by younger girls a number of times. Not generally teens, but mid 20s isn't unusual. Although, I was on a flight and this 18 year old girl hit on me. I thought she was 20 though! But, it's all in fun. I think younger people are more attractive.

Sounds like you haven't met the right Cougar, yet. :shifty:

If by Cougar, you mean older woman, I don't know. Recently there's been 3 different older women who've obviously been interested. All around 50ish, plus or minus. Personality-wise, all pretty nice. And, for their age, definitely above average. I mean, honestly, their husbands shouldn't be complaining! But, there just wouldn't be that kind of spark for me in that way.

I enjoy flirting quite a bit and there's just a certain spark when you flirt with a very attractive person. I find that sparks fades quickly with age.

Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not totally shallow! I'll be friends with anyone regardless of age in general. And, those 3 women specifically, I've had great conversations with them about a ton of stuff. Wonderful people, just not that little spark!

I am 50 and I would probably date someone 15 years older or 15 years younger than me.

Any older than that and I would be dating someone who is an old age pensioner, any younger and he would be almost young enough to be my son.

In the past I have dated 2 men who were 8 years younger than me, and one man who was 18 years older (I was 26 at the time and he was 44).

Mmm... I'm just about to turn 30, so my preferred age-range is between 26 and 40 I guess.

I in fact just started seeing my "oldest" date, who's 37 and who keeps on calling me a kid. Which is kinda funny given I have the mental attitude of 55.

In the end though I'm interested in whether the lady can make me laugh, hold a decent conversation and generally intrigue me, so the age thing really shouldn't count.

Hugo - probably being a bit over-diplomatic there

I generally go for my age or older, though not too much older. 25-35 is reasonable. I just don't see a relationship with some one significantly beyond my age-range being successful.
However, I do have a thing for college professors. There's a really specific type: the kind that was around in the early '80's: tall and lanky, with turtle necks under corduroy sports coats with patches on the elbows. They look a bit like Carl Sagan, or the dad on Family Ties. It'd be fun to have a naughty affair with a college professor who's way to old for me.
Damn! If it wasn't for the turtlenecks that could be me. :(
Well, that can't be too difficult to rectify, can it?

no real math here, but a few years either way is good at my age. Not looking for much older (in a relationship, so not looking at all, but anyway), and a few years younger is good. I'm 27, so 21 is kind of a built-in cut-off anyway. No interest in dating someone who can't go out to a bar or something, or is still in college...

And when I'm in my 50's, I'll be back to looking at the same 23-28 range that I've decided is my range right now... ;)

^ Yeah, how often does that happen?

Reminds me of the time my roommate called up the comments line for a tabacco company just to tell them that he thought they were doing a really good job. Having to listen to complaints all day, it made the guy on the other end's day.

Im 36 and i wouldn't really consider dating anyone younger than 30 and maybe up to 45.

I know a guy who is 30 dating a 19 year old. I'm kind of disturbed by that. I think first what do they have in common, and secondly wouldn't he feel like a dirty old man?
