what's your local weather?

Outer rainbands from Beryl moving through Houston right now. Just a tiny taste of what's to come later on tonight and tomorrow.
I have relatives in DFW metroplex, Temple and Carthage. They are happy for a break from the heat caused by Beryl, probably a short lived reprieve. They will probably pay for it on the back end with increased humidity and a return of the heat. 113F(120 with the heat index) in central California for the high again today.

Currently under a heat advisory from now until 10pm Tuesday with highs in the low to mid nineties.
It's so weird for me to see people talking like this when it's only in the '90s. This time of year in Az we go out and do stuff in the morning when it's still cool and only in the '90s.

The Pacific Northwest never used to experience these heat related events before; that, coupled with the humidity and the fact that Seattle/Puget Sound has the fewest air conditioners per household in the nation makes for an uncomfortable time.

This time of year is only supposed to be in the mid to upper 90s for the normal high. It is an hour before sunset. I've been going outside and moving sprinklers on garden hoses every hour to water my yard, it takes about 10 minutes to move them all, but it is still 110 degrees with 27 percent relative humidity. I'll be finished with the yard at sunset, but the acreage that I'm flood irrigating won't be finished until 2AM, and I will be busy making valve adjustments until I shut the water off. It will cool to the upper 90s at that time. At least it will make it harder for the mosquitoes to find you because your body temperature is the same as the surrounding air and objects.

Watching the weather channel report, and it seems like the strongest winds in Houston will be between about 9AM and noon tomorrow. We could be getting hurricane wind "gusts" at that time exceeding 60 or 70 MPH. I sure hope everyone has brought in their lawn and patio furniture.

Yeah, that does like it would be pretty uncomfortable.

Yikes, I didn't realize you guys were that much hotter than normal around there.

Thanks for saying what I came in here to say! I live right on the Canadian side of I-5. 28C-34C hits differently when you've got lots of humidity, and air conditioners only became common recently. We never needed A/C around here before, other than 2-3 weeks a year. Winters were wet but pleasant, and summers were warm and pleasant. We really used to put the whole 'temperate' in the 'temperate coastal rainforest' thing. Not so much these days!!

The freaky thing for me came this spring: a TV news reporter was discussing predicted drought conditions across the lower mainland this summer. I thought they must have a gas leak in the satellite truck, because it was absolutely teeming with rain at the time. Then they mentioned where they were standing on the north shore, and that the snowpack in the background should be at least 1.5 metres above the reporters head. YIKES! Pretty unnerving for us here, but also everyone who lives downstream through the province and into the western US!

Hot with dew points in the upper 70s. What little breeze we have feels like having a warm, wet towel dragged across you.

Tuesday was the coolest high for the month, only got to 105 F. Monday was 109 F, Wednesday 111 F, Thursday started out in the high 70's at sunrise for the low. When I left the house at 08:30 for outpatient surgery it was 83 F. When they completed the procedure at the Surgery center at 11:00 it was 100 F and has climbed to 113 F with 24 % relative humidity (heat index 121.6).

Relativly cool only 104 so far and lots of clouds. High humidity caused by virga from monsoon moisture coming from the south and east and over the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

It's about 10c (50f for those in the USA) outside at the moment. The sun is out, but clouds are building as rain is expected for the next week. Lots of rain.

A really vigorous thunderstorm moving in. Tons of lightning, wind, and rain about to hit. They just issued a special weather statement.

Coolest high for the month, only 102 F / 39 C with 30 percent relative humidity. Mostly sunny, chance of dry lightning due to thunderstorms, caused by monsoon moisture, in the California Sierra Nevada Mountains to the east of me.
