what's your local weather?

Along with the fog yesterday, it's been pretty cloudy this week. I always find it kind of weird how the clouds effect the temps, when it's cloudy the nights don't get as cold, but at the same time the days don't get as warm.

The clouds were gone today, so it got a bit warmer. But earlier today my mom said she saw our highs are going down into the 50s next week, which would be the coldest it's been so far this year.

Colder...

In fact--a cold snap did this in Berlin

This footage was from earlier---but please note that damage happened well away from the condensation funnel---tornadoes are wider than they may appear---and do not always have condensation funnels!

It was colder the last few days, but we're starting to warm back up. It was barely in the 50s the last few days, but by the end of the week we're supposed to be back in the 60s.

In the Cincinnati area, we’re supposed to have -25 to -30 wind chills tomorrow, with 50 MPH wind gusts.

North of Chicago, the "historic" snow wasn't all that historic. But today it's -4°F with gale force winds, so that small amount of snow is going a long way.

here north NJ top left corner of NJ. the snow happened but then stopped about 30 minutes of snow not much on the ground now.

8 degrees F here in southern Tennessee. It was raining last night in the mid 40s, with occasionally power outages. I thought the roads would sheets of ice this morning, but I guess it mostly drained of the road before the cooldown occurred.

Extremely windy, and cold. 30F now and down to 12 F tonight. It rarely gets below 40F here. I hate the cold.

The temperatures I'm seeing in other parts of US and Canada are just insane. One of the animal sanctuaries I follow out in Tennessee had a wind chill in the -20ºsF last night, and as an Arizonan I just can't even wrap my mind around that kind of cold.
Right now the sun is starting to set, and the temp is 60ºF.

Environment Canada just swapped in a Weather Advisory for the Winter Storm Warning for Ottawa-Gatineau.
Slight improvement there, I guess.

I'm feeling kind of guilty about it being sunny and in the 60s here, while most of eastern part of country is so unbelievably cold.
