After a rainy night it's a crisp but sunny morning here. I seem to be not the only one who thinks it a perfect morning for a walk - I just met half the town when going down to the river to collect a few lbs of tiny pebbles/coarse sand (I'll spend the afternoon potting my cacti and the cactus-substrate you get at shops frequently lacks in mineral components)

Autumn showed up yesterday, sometime at the close of July 91st and the beginning October 7th. Glad it came by. We've missed it. I hope it hangs around awhile, it's nice.

That's the way it usually is with us but the last week or so has been surprisingly pleasant. The hottest its been has been 89 degrees. Not a GREAT improvement over our usual 95-105 degrees, but I haven't needed my air conditioner for about ten days so I'll take it.
