not exactly gloom and mis'ry everywhere here, but it's unpleasantly steamy: even though it's only 20°C it feels like 35°C due to the moisture. Nights are already very cold: 4°C are predicted for tonight - I gotta put my basil under a bucket.
    Perfect heart attack weather :(

Still hitting the high 90s to over 100. Still muggy as an armpit in a swamp.

Tropical storm Imelda is slapping the shit out of Houston. Flash flooding all over the place.

Glad I am safe and dry at home. Hubby's car is in the shop so he's driving my car-- which is good because it's a little higher than his. Not much, but a little.

The University is closing early but he'll have to wait a bit before heading out.

Very pleasant: low to mid 80s and then it drops to 50s and 60s at night.

So... I was *going* to complain about how chilly it's been lately, and how cold I was all day yesterday.

.... aaaaand then I read this.

I don't think I'm going to complain now.

And to anyone reading this in Alberta or Saskatchewan, you have my sympathies. :(

It was gorgeous yesterday, just warm and windy. The heat came back for my day off. Yeah. I mad.

79 F, partly cloudy and a little on the humid side. Earlier today we had a brief but pretty powerful storm hit the area. The wind got pretty heavy for a few minutes or so.

Windy, chilly and damp. The leaves are starting to change colour. Fall is definitely here.

My last update was last Monday, so let me bring you up to speed on this last week:

On Tuesday, summer decided to make an impromptu one-day curtain call. The high temperature was almost 30 C. The sunshine and summer-like heat with the beautiful colours of the fall leaves made an interesting dichotomy.

... but it wasn't to last. By Tuesday afternoon, severe thunderstorms rolled in, and the rain persisted all through the evening and night.

On Wednesday, temperatures dropped back to fall levels... I think we *maybe* maxed out at 19 C or 20 C. Rained off and on all day.

Thursday was windy and cold. High of 17 C. Didn't wear a coat, and regretted it profusely. Had to turn on the heater in the car for the first time on the way home from work.

Friday the temperatures dropped even more. We only made it up as high as 12 C, and that was really only briefly. Yes, I wore the coat that day. There were both frost and snow watches in effect. Fortunately, we didn't get any snow.

So, we covered weather from late summer, through fall, to early winter. In one week.

My update...September 17th - now. HOT and DRY. Some of the trees in my yard are actually wilting. The lawn was looking great the last time I mowed it 3 weeks ago. It now looks like tumbleweed. Non tumbling tumbleweed.
