what's your local weather?

It’s been hot and clear for weeks, but there was a lunar eclipse last night that I’d quite like to have seen, so it was cloudy. We had rain too, of the big blobby droplet variety.

I was scheduled to cut my mom's grass today, so of course the rain and storms dip down further than expected just as I was heading out the door.

It was also 4°F warmer (when I checked) than they'd said it would be and many fewer clouds than they had said when I watched the news last night. Grrr...

It's persisting/chucking it down/raining or whatever you want to call it.

In house though (and with no heating on and a couple of windows) thermometer is still reading 26c so it hasn't cooled much if any:(

unbearably. It's hot and slightly humid. 28°C in my lab, 30°C in my office (in the afternoon it'll be around 35° indoors and 37 in the shade outdoors). I think I'll sneak over in the chem lab and steal a few ice packs.
No hope either - the nights are almost as hot as the days and the forecast predicts that temperatures will rise another 6°.
Ah well, at least I get out sampling a river on Wednesday and due to evaporation water is always a bit colder than the air =) The silverlining's cloud: it's a sewage-polluted river, so full gear is called for: rubber trousers and shoulder-length gloves. In short: a walking sauna. (But on the way home I might check on the quality of another river which by pure coincidence happens to have skinny-dipping quality *whistles innocently* :D And no, that's definitely no pic for the current avatar contest! :p)

same here, {{{{{{{Kilana}}}}}}} I think I'll call it a day at 3 and go home where it's a few degrees cooler. Normally I'd go down to the stream, sit in the shade and dangle my feet in the water but since today is the first day of the summer vacations I suspect my special place is already occupied by hordes of kids and as tolerant as I usually am to children, today is simply too hot for any other noise than the gentle humming of an ice cream machine.

80ish and stormy again. We are flooded and expect more rain most of the week. If a hurricane were to show up now, we would be totally screwed.

the heat wave was supposed to take a little break today. Obviousely, it didn't watch the forecast...
It's currently 33°C both in my office and outdoors but the worst is yet to come.
With a lot of luck we might get a thunderstorm later in the day. The prob is that my town lies in a sort of bowl with steep hills forming a rim. This rim has only one opening, about 500 yards wide, towards the south. Unless a thunderstorm hits that opening precisely, it gets deflected and slides around the town on the outside of the rim. We had only 5 days of rain and a total of about 20 litres/m² all year!

Atm there's a rather big storm cell forming towards the north of the town. If it stays on course it'll get deflected again :( But at least the clouds will bring a slight reduction of the heat and there might be a breeze.
Kilana, were you lucky and got a thunderstorm about an hour ago? I interpret BR's rain Radar correctly you might have gotten hit by its fringe.

eta: YAY!!!!!!! It's raining!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

e again ta: for 2 minutes. Still, better than nothing =)

We got caught in a torrential downpour this afternoon and were totally soaked getting the groceries in the car. So sick of daily storms! Not just rain - big scary storms. We have had over 10 inches of rain in the last month which is twice the usual amount of rainfall.

It’s gonna rain all day. I’m upset. Wanted to go swimming. Already shocked the pool because I thought it would be nice outside. Bummer.
