What's your favorite adult beverage?

Bailey's on ice
G&T on ice (Finnish Napue gin by preference)
Cider, extra dry
Beer (I'll try pretty much any craft beer, but IPAs are too bitter for me)
Dry white wine
I like red wine with meat dishes, but I can't drink it without food

For me, coffee isn't an adult drink, I've been drinking it since I was five years old. Long story short: I was allergic to chocolate as a kid and at one point refused to drink milk unless it was straight from the cow on my grandmother's farm. In desperation my parents let me have a mixture of one part coffee and nine parts milk, which went down a treat. My parents almost never bought any soda, so I was almost a teenager before I learned to like Coke or lemonade. I did drink juice occasionally at friends' birthday parties, but used to make our relatives laugh by asking for coffee instead of juice if it was a family party with both children and adults present. By the time I was fifteen, the ratio had switched to one part milk and nine parts coffee...

Coffee isn’t an adult drink. I grew up drinking tea, and occasionally coffee if it was on offer, but ours was a tea drinking house, and there was nothing special about coffee.

It always perplexed me when I saw American movie characters treat coffee the same as alcohol where children were concerned. Caffeine jitters also seem to be something that only happens in movies. I always found that if coffee keeps you awake, you’re probably not tired, and a bedtime coffee was the perfect end to a busy day.

Coffee is a stimulant and if you're not used to coffee or have a low tolerance for caffeine then it will have a larger effect on people, a friend of mine wil not be able to sleep if he had coffee before bedtime, also after drinking an aftershock, which is a brutally high in caffeine coffee he does get a high heartrate and other less nice effects.

Pondering if I should buy a bottle of rum or a bottle of single malt.. of course there's old Jenever as well, decisions, decisions, decisions..

I drank coffee black straight from when I was 12. So every day for 26, almost 27 years.

Two nights ago, I had some Bacardi Spiced Rum. I think.

American kids grow up being told that "coffee will stunt your growth and put hair on your chest."

Despite the components being in the fridge all summer, I have just discovered Pimms and Ginger Ale.

It won’t be in the fridge for long. Yom.

Hmm.. lately I have been sampling a bit of Korenwijn again, lovely distilled beverage, since no one outside The Netherlands knows what it is I can be sure it will stay plentifully available..:D

That's just off the top of my head. Been a few years since I've had anything. It's always a once-in-a-while thing.

Got drunk just once, early 2005. Screwdrivers. The first 3 were with orange juice. Then the bar ran out. The last two were with cranberry juice. I got dizzy, had the 'Kibble Lean', but was happy. My stomach wasn't too impressed, though.
