I had a beautiful cat (my favorite ever pet) who was pregnant with my current 10 year old cats. She was just lovely, very bright and affectionate. But when pregnant she turned into a major carnivore and on at least FIVE occasions she somehow killed and dragged into the house (through a very small window which was her cat door) a brushtail possum in the middle of the night. And ate about half of it. Under the dining table. A brushtail possum btw is about the size of a medium cat, though fatter and rounder. So this was quite a carcass to wake up to.

Sam was a black standard poodle. The best (and last) dog our family had.

He ate my brother's shoes, no one else's. He chewed to pieces and ate a plastic football. watching him jump back and upwards three feet when it popped was great. He managed to open a tin of "chocolate pizza" and ate it all. He ate two pounds of hamburger my mom had on the counter, along with half a loaf of bread. Then he threw that all up and ate it again. Yeccch. He chewed through the headphone wire of my then-new sony walkman.

Sam disliked my now-Hubby giving me a hug on our first date and growled at him. Remember, this is a 70-lb dog growling. Dad called Sam a "good boy" for that and gave him extra milkbones. Sam threw-up on the shoe of my now-Hubby. Twice. The second time, all he had was bile, so you know he meant it.

Overall, Sam was a GREAT dog. We had to have him put down at 14yo. He had started hiding from us in the house. The vet said he was "going away to die."

By far the worst thing ever done by a pet (besides various vommiting episodes and the like), was when my dog Shusha (yes, named after the famous Iranian folk singer) chewed up almost every single one of my ORIGINAL Star Wars figures back in 1979... She had been staying with us while her owner, my brother, was working in the Wyoming oil fields... As a 9 year old kid, you can imagine I was pretty damn upset. I had a pretty big collection going...

Happily, that Christmas, I got a big, clumisly wrapped bundle of action figures with a card from Shusha that said "Sorry"....

I'm happy to also report that these action figures have survived the years and my son played joyfully with them as I did, so long ago...

That is a sweet story.

I love cats. I just adore them, and was raised with cats and dogs around me at all times. But I hate that cat. She's wild--as in feral. She was found outside, abandoned, when she was a newborn and never lost her wild nature. Mom's house was out in the country and there were always deer around the place. There was a large buck in the backyard and that damn, tiny little cat attacked it and tried to take it down. She got kicked and flew back several feet but she proceeded to chase three or four grown deer away.

I think I love that cat.

The worst my parents' cat ever did was bring home a dead hare. She was damn proud of herself that day.

You can have it.

The real Finn was a trouble maker back in the day. He did a lot of things as a pup.

- chewed a desk leg
- destroyed a coffee table
- ruined a leather recliner chair
- Ate and ripped up a part of a metal baseboard heater
- Ate parts of the carpet (and I got both the pet and apartment deposits back!!!)
- ruined his first few harnesses and leashes
- peed all over my old car often
- he would run up to a bedroom and pee on the bed when he came with us visiting someone several times
- Chewed up markers and pens, leaving stains all over that carpet (same apartment where I got both deposits back).

That's top of my head right now

When I was a teenager one of our cats was sick and dying and he would piss every where. One day he got into my bedroom closet where I kept my comic book collection stored in boxes and when I went to read some comics I discovered that he had pissed all over them.

I used to own two dogs. One ate the other one's shit.

I awoke one night around 3 or 4 AM to a rather odd smell. I turned on the light and found out that I had a pile of regurgitated feces on the nice, pale carpet. It had the lovely bouquet of poop and stomach acid at the same time, making it a pleasure to clean.

Other than that, she's a great dog. Sleeps next to me every night.

When my GSD was a 6 month old puppy he dragged the couch out of the living room, down the hall and completely shredded it.

One of my other GSDs unraveled a berber rug and proceeded to eat it like spaghetti. $1000.00 later and an abdominal surgery he was as good as new

Our cocker spaniel ate one of those chocolate oranges, foil and all and then pooped foil for days......doh.

I've also had the joy of a cat that ate tinsel. She would poop it half out, I would have to grab the rest and pull it like I was starting a lawn mower.

One of our old cats, Tommy, was small but a vicious hunter. This cat would bring a kill into our back garden (though never into the house, thankfully) at least three times a week, and those were just the kills he brought home. He probably weighed no more than 7 lbs, but managed to kill a squirrel once. My favourite hunting episode is when my husband came across Tommy consuming yet another victim in the back garden, and husband said, "Oh, shit, I hope that's not a koi carp!". It probably was, judging from the size and colouring of the fish. The thing is, we didn't know a single neighbour with a fish pond, so we had no idea where Tommy got that fish. No one ever knocked on our door regarding the fish, so we never had to pay anyone back for it, thankfully.

For me, it was when our cat ruined one Thanksgiving by unexpectedly attacking my sweet old aunt. Well, he really wasn't attacking her, but rather her wig (he managed to half pull it off her, but his claws got stuck and my aunt wound up screaming and running around our living room with him hanging on until we could separate them).

I thought it was funny as hell myself. My aunt didn't.

My dog bagged a duck one time. I don't mean I shot it and she retrieved it. I mean she came upon one at a pond, picked up and shook it by the neck. As much as I enjoyed watching this, I'm glad no one else was around. The last thing I needed was someone calling animal control or some hippie activist group on me.

Yeah, she kinda sounded like a mower starting up when you gave the tinsel a good tug.

She was a good cat though, we got along great, she was one of the few cats I really liked. I would lie down on the couch and watch Tv and she would sleep on my belly and purr.

Oh another good story about her. My dad was a really nice, generous, caring guy. He was also a total slob. My mom kept her clothes in the master bed. My dad had a home office downstairs with a couple of closets, so he kept his there. He would just throw stuff on the floor of the closet. The cat had a penchance for going into the closet and taking a shit on his clothes.

I loved it, him not so much.

Oh and here's another one about another pet. The first dog I owned on my own as an adult, which sadly the ex-wife took in the divorce. She takes great care of him though, I just miss him.

Anyway, I was walking him one steamy summer evening after work. I was about a half mile from home, passing a very busy intersection at rush hour. Suddenly, his tail goes up at a very odd angle, and his ass just exploded all over my lower half. So I get to walk 10 minutes home, covered in hot, smelly diarrhea. My ex came home shortly afterwards, to find me on the deck, in my underwear, hosing down my clothes.

I'm not sure whose look was better. Her looking at me like why is my husband in his underwear hosing off his clothes. Or the dog at the time who turned his head back toward me and was like, Whoa dude, I nearly shit my pants!

I've been around for two rounds of kittens, both while a kid. Both times my parents sent me and the kittens, once weaned, out to the local strip mall where I would stand there all afternoon with them in a cardboard box pitifully asking to adopt them.

These were not the best weekends ever. I don't know why they just didn't take them to the nearest no-kill pound.

if my little Amber does give birth to a litter, i've already got 2 people asking if they can have one of the kittens... so finding homes for them once they're weaned off won't be a problem

My dog recently chewed up my autographed Torii Hunter baseball. It was on a shelf over five feet up, so I'm not sure how she got a hold of it.

A few days after I got her, she grabbed hold of a large potted plant by the stem and proceeded to run with it throughout the house. Dirt and pieces of plant were strewn everywhere. Quite the mess, but it was kind of funny watching this little pup having a grand time dragging this huge plant around.

I'm puppysitting for a lab pup this week, and I've been keeping a close eye on her. She always has this look like she's going to do something destructive.
