What's the worst they could do?

What's the worst that they could do? Fire J.J. Abrams and replace him with Michael Bay, Paul W.S. Anderson, Rob Cohen, or Stephen Sommers.

They could do a lot worse that replacing Abrams with Bay. After all, Bay's Transformers have averaged $350 over 3 films. That's about 40% than Star Trek made. Money talks and Bay's movies get listened to.

... if only to hear all the explosions. ;)

Pfft, you can hear those clearly enough through the wall, as you're trying to watch a different movie entirely in the theater adjacent.

Not have Carol Marcus. But then I love Carol Marcus and her story. Unless this version doesn't have a Carol Marcus......

They recast Kirk. Now he's played by Pauley Shore.

Space, the final frontier
These are the voyages of the Starship ManWhore
It's 5 year mission, to seek out new life and new civilizations
To boldly go where no ManJina has gone before!

They recast the entire movie, with the people from Jersey Shore.

And cast the space villians with "Boston" Rob, Coach (Benny), and the crazy Uncle and Nephew (what's their names again? The oil barons).

Worst thing... i think would be just to 'update' the old movies with new technology and actors...

can you imagine going through the V'ger storyline again with the new Enterprise and crew... no thanks...

M

I second the "Khan of Borg" motion.

If they bring Khan back, I'll only go watch it once (cue in Comic Book Guy)! Feel my nerd rage!

:p

The NuEnterprise is dragged into the Delta Quadrant by a being that is looking to procreate. The being dies before "getting his". For reasons that are clear only in Kirk's head, he is left with a choice between destroying his crews only way home or leaving an entire race to face genocide. He chooses the latter, forgetting that he could have left a timed explosive device behind to prevent the genocide.
