What's the largest # of companions the Dr'd take on at 1 time?

If TARDIS travel is a prerequisite for a companion then it means Liz Shaw isn't a companion, which is frankly daft!

she's the exception as far as i'm concerned. she may have never travelled in the TARDIS, but she was the Doctor's companion for the whole season and she travelled with him on his adventures, just not through time.

She travelled with him through time, but just in one direction at the regular speed.

Starkers?

Is that Zoe's bum hanging off the console?

You know car shows and boat shows where they have half naked bimbos lounging over vehicles polishing the chrome bits with their cooch, to sell these products to rubes who can't help but level their bank balances due to low blood pressure...

Anyone feel compelled to buy an old type 40?

David A. McIntee, our own Lonemagpie, had Liz accompany the Doctor and Jo in the book 'The Wages Of Sin'. Not canon I know, but good enough for me.

And yes, Zoe has a fantastic bum.

How can you count someone as a Companion that was only in one episode?
This is an old question that fans have been debating for decades. The prime example being Sara Kingdom who only appeared in one serial, The Daleks' Master Plan, but appeared in nine episodes within that serial. During that story, she traveled to many places and times with The Doctor and Steven (even more than see on screen if you follow Big Finish's Companion Chronicles).

Generally, I agree one story isn't enough but I make an exception for Sara Kingdom.

There's also Grace from the TVM, who is sometimes listed as a companion even though she specifically refuses to become one at the end of that story.

For me, I'd define a companion as someone who shares more than one consecutive adventure with the Doctor, though I'm pretty sure even that doesn't work in some instances.

I'm curious if the Doctor at some point did capture the souls of his lost and murdered companions and built them some sort of neverland in the shape of Camelot for "they" to play out happily ever after in, since Sarah Kingdom does pass a remarkable resemblance to a certain sorceress that is known to stomp and romp about such a place.

Interesting hypothesis especially considering Sara Kingdom's "side fate" as revealed in the Big Finish Companion Chronicles.

I listen to those as I'm getting ready for sleep.

Never get much further than 10 minutes into them on the first try.

If Guinevere looked a bit like River Song, then I'd have a pretty good guess as to where this hypothetical AI Camelot is located.

Are you kidding me? Home Truths is one of the best audio plays, let alone one of the best Companion Chronicles.

This. And the two sequels, The Drowned World and The Guardian of the Solar System, are just as good.

I put them on because I am sleepy. Almost asleep, but he sound of my computer fan whirring next to my bed is annoying.

The one with Charlie facing off against the Celestial Toymaker recently I had to restart about 12 times.
