What's in YOUR 'head canon'?

I realize this thread is old but here goes:

I have become VERY fond of the movie Valkyrie (about the July 20 plot to assassinate Hitler) and I think that the men involved in that plot should have starships named after them. They gave their lives to try and rid the world of a genocidal madman, and they should be honored for their sacrifice.

And no, I'm not setting out to name vessels after Nazis. Because these men were not Nazis. They were loyal Germans, to be sure, but they were never members of the Nazi Party, they had nothing but contempt for the Nazi regime (Hitler in particular) and they sacrificed everything to bring it down.

So in my head canon goes...the Stauffenberg class.

A few facts about this class:

- After the class ship USS Stauffenberg, subsequent ships are numbered in descending order. This is because the whole thing came to a head on July 20, 1945, so IMHO it would be inappropriate to give these ships any higher numbers than that.

- Rather than having a unique motto for each ship's dedication plaque (as is standard in Starfleet), ALL ships of this class have the same motto on their plaques. This is taken from the German Resistance memorial in Berlin:

You did not bear the shame.
You resisted.
You bestowed the eternally vigilant signal to turn back
By sacrificing your impassioned lives for freedom, justice and honor.

That said, I give you....the Stauffenberg class:

(if you want to know who these men are, I refer you to these links)

USS Stauffenberg, NCC-72045
USS Tresckow, NCC-71945
USS Olbricht, NCC-71845
USS Ludwig Beck, NCC-71745
USS Goerdeler, NCC-71645
USS Witzleben, NCC-71545
USS Quirnheim, NCC-71445
USS Haeften, NCC-71345
USS Fellgiebel, NCC-71245
USS Oster, NCC-71145
USS Canaris, NCC-71045

So, if you realized it was old, why didn't you follow the rules and start a new thread and link the old one?

Resurrecting dead threads. If you find a thread that has not had a post in it in over a year, don't post in it. Start a new thread instead. You can, if necessary, link back to the old thread if something crucial is in the thread

You've been around long enough to know better. Don't do this again.
