No, not really. These are pretty cool.
They're not going with the traditional titles over stills from previous episodes?
Gotta admit it would be a nice Christmas gift to get the whole Exeter episode by December 25. It would be a nice companion piece to my DVD of the new Star Trek film.

Ah... so there were NOT other ways to complete it then.
If the producers think it should be finished a certain way, then it should be finished a certain way, as they are the ones who know what they want the finished product to look like. Thus, refer to my first statement.

Titles over still pictures with a music bed. A chimpanzee could edit that together.

There's no reason based on your demonstrated abilities to think that you could do it at all well.
Once again, with feeling: Starship Exeter is a great show. Whenever, where ever, the final chapter is released, we will all be grateful... well, most of us. All fan productions are a gift to the Trek community, and we should respond, as with any gift, with appropriate gratitude and modesty.
If you NEED fan Trek, and can't bear the wait... watch other fan Trek. I have a collection of well in excess of 200 fan films which you can access through my website. That does not mean I am not very interested in the final part of Exeter... it just means I have access to other fan Trek, and I watch that in the meanwhile.

There were plenty of other ways to complete it, but those other options weren't what Jimm Johnson chose.

Now, here's a fascinating new angle. Many of you know that Phase II had planned on releasing Blood and Fire - Part 2 around Labour Day or early September or sometime in September or the fall or .... now the official release date is Nov 20 (I think).
One of things I keep reading is how you can count on Phase II to release an episode when they say they will. And I have found that to be true. Along with this goes the common talk about how they are not like Exeter... they won't keep fans waiting for years. Well, as I said, I'm hoping to see Exeter release TTI: Act 4 is November. Wouldn't it be amazing if after all the hype, all the fan teasing, if Exeter released the finale to TTI before Blood and Fire 2 is released?
I think that would be ironic! I think it would be great to see the ending of The Tressaurian Intersection before seeing the ending of Blood and Fire.

There was no race of any kind, as I said uptopic.
No arguments from me, Dennis. Mostly I was being sarcastic about a race that was not a race at all. We each plug along marching to our own drummers as permitted by our respective resources and we are One Big Happy Fleet in the world of Star Trek fan films. The notion of a "horse race" was introduced by CaptainKen in order to, well, I'm not sure why. But I actually don't subscribe to the notion that this is some Zero Sum game.
My comment was also meant to serve the function of announcing that our episode has indeed been released today.
