What would your TNG movie be like?

In the Best of All Possible Worlds, I'd of liked of 7 movies, each focusing on a different crew member. The series did this, after all.

The point of movies is to show what you can't in half the time and a fraction of the budget, so I would have taken all the BIG things we'd ever want to see, and just Star Wars Matrix LotR-ified them. I'd have done a huge Borg invasion movie. BoBW was the single ship, this time they send thousands, like locusts overrunning everything. But in the best tradition of TNG, it would be about the exploration of grand themes - which only gives more weight to the kewl adventure story. Collectivism vs. individuality explored smartly, honestly, and in depth. And at some point, a trip inside the hive mind.

Also a huge Dominion War movie showing why the Federation flagship wasn't leading the assault on the enemy's homeworld yet still shows why it is THE flagship. ...Say it wasn't at the tail end of the war because it was in repairs after the fleet it headed defeated the Tholians after they, like the Breen, entered the war on the wrong side.

How about revisiting and tieing up loose ends from the series...there could be a huge "Conspiracy" movie, a huge final Romulan-Vulcan reunification movie, a huge Nagilum and "Emergence" movies.

Certain things would happen also that we'd always waited for like Riker and Troi getting married, Picard and Crusher getting together, Data creates a working positronic android... Oh, and we get to see Shuttlebay 1 and Cetacean Ops!

People:

Well, if I were to create a TNG movie finale, I would have killed off Picard instead of Data, or killed the whole crew, an idea from another poster I like. If it's just Picard who bites the dust, I'd make Riker captain of Enterprise once again, and he promotes Data to the position of first officer, as Picard was going to in NEM.

As for the plot, I would've tied it into the Dominion War arc this way: Starfleet has discovered the Dominion is working on a weapon that has two purposes (a) it destroys stars and whole star systems, and (b) by destroying the system, it creates a stable wormhole under Dominion control so they can finally bring reinforcements to the Alpha Quadrant and decisively defeat all the Alpha Quadrant allies.

Picard, in command of Enterprise and a hastily convened task force of Alliance ships, must foil this deadly plot. Starfleet learns of this potential disaster too late to alter the plans for its other invasion fleet, headed by Sisko. And perhaps the star being targeted could be Earth's sun or even Betazed's home star, since the Dominion captured Betazed. This would give Troi angst.

And one other threat Data discovers while examining the Dominion's plans: the weapon could cause a chain reaction that could destroy hundreds of stars in the Alpha Quadrant, devastating the aliies and killing billions of lifeforms. So how about Universal Armaggedon as high stakes? It could even induce a small group of Breen to turn against their allies and help the Alpha Quadrant Allliance. Or even more dramatically, a Changeling or Vorta turns on the Dominion and warns the Alliance of the danger.

Since I didn't care for most of TNG (where we got soap opera or pick you drama of the week, like generic mystery or pointless political intrigue and little to no Sci-Fi action and or adventure) Nemesis began to bring back Sci-Fi and action adventure to Star Trek. First Contact was okay but most of it seemed forced.

For once, it would
NOT
FOCUS
ONLY
ON
PICARD,
DATA,
AND WORF.
I like those characters too, but please. The other four have developed beyond lines for humor and exposition.

personally, i think the reason why most of the TNG movies didnt work is because of the escalation factor. look at it this way.

TMP - Earth in Danger
WoK - Revenge / Heroes in Danger
SFS - Heroes in Danger
TVH - Earth in Danger
TFF - uh... was anyone in danger?
TUC - Galactic War = Earth in Danger
GEN - uh... a planet we have never heard of before in danger
FC - Earth in danger / Vengence
INS - uh... a planet we have never heard of before in danger, again?
NEM - Heroes in danger, but never really felt like too much danger

GEN, INS, NEM, SFS, TFF all are considered the "bad" movies. why? because we got so used to our heroes saving the world (or universe) that saving a small unknown planet seems pointless.

this is why a reboot was in order for the movies. they can start small with the goals of the movie.

a TNG movie that i would like to see. a Q being has cause numerous big bangs across the galaxy.. or maybe even the galaxy itself is causing it. our heroes are faced with a deilema. stop these big bangs from happening and kill whatever new life is forming with them or let them keep happening and threaten live that already exisits. that would put the prime directive to the test. natural evolution of a people is one thing, natural evolution of a galaxy/universe is another story.

I had a dream that fit an ending. The wounded Enterprise E is trying to get away from a massive battle. Guinan is dead (I think electrocuted and the compartment she was in lost atmosphere) and the saucer separates and is hit. Then the bridge is vented and Picard dies. Enterprise is destroyed. The End.
