What would you holodeck program be?

I'll tell you what it wouldn't be: I wouldn't use it to watch terrible actors or actor/directors.

The Defector from TNG is a great episode, but I watched it today and I had forgotten about Data referencing Kenneth Branagh as a Shakespeare actor. I really hope whoever wrote that line had someone break all of the fingers on one of their hands.

Well that's a first.

As for me, I'd play Star Trek.

Actually I wonder how boring it would be to try and command a Roman legion. The funny thing about the holodeck is that it is only as accurate as scholars can guess, and even though we know a lot about Rome, there are some huge gaps.

I'd set up some kind of tournament of fighting, sort of like Worf's workout program.

My Holodeck Program would be to go through the eons and see how much of what we have theorized and left to conjecture is really true...from the nascent beginnings of our Universe to the formation and vagaries of "normal" to the assembly of our solar system to our planet to the primordial to dinosaurs to Jesus, et. al, to all the history leading up to now...as Hypaspist accurately points out above, however, the 'deck is only as good as the designers' knowledge...so my program would be a little in the fantasy line...more like a time viewer...but, yeah...

My holodeck program can not be mentioned here in detail, except to say that Quark would squirm whenever I booked the Holosuite.

Oh, and no, it does not include the line: "It puts the lotion on its skin or gets the hose again".... it's the "Other Kind" of "Program."

An F-35 Lightning II with unlimited fuel and ammo. It's the newest thing the Air Force has.

Or
The Matrix just to do the flying thing. Superman with guns.

Somewhere between an impressionist painting and a Girls Gone Wild video. LOL.

ETA: I said in another thread about the same topic I would play Kadis-kot with Seven Of Nine. I choose that instead. :)

Custom obstacle courses.

Like, run a Spartan Race without getting stuck for 20 minutes because there's a bottleneck and they overbooked the event.

Or, take the best obstacles from Bone Frog, Spartan Race, Superhero Scramble and Tough Mudder, put them all together without the ten thousand weight carrying obstacles Spartan has or the Fear Factor obstacles Tough Mudder has. Tweak the amount of other racers on the course so there's enough to feel like you're surrounded by peers but not so much that lines form at obstacles. And run when you feel ready, not on a specific day and time assigned by them which might just by random luck have rained all the previous day.

Or just do Mt Medioryama.

The Halo series. I'd love to be able to kill a grunt with my bare hands. Or better yet; a samurai sword. I hate those guys. They enjoy their work way too much.

Ninjawarrior following a trained and adult Lara Croft. Not the new weak one. She's got to do something between missions.

The World of Zork, as created from an amalgamation of all of the games and books, and using the holodeck's ability to extrapolate and the sourcebooks from the 3.5 edition of Dungeons & Dragons to fill in any gaps. Only instead of AFGNCAAP, I'd be the shapeshifting version of Supergirl from the comics of the mid-90s. :techman:
