What would you holodeck program be?

A "real life" D&D campaign for me and my friends to play, of course. I guess it'd kinda be like LARPing, but with actual weapons and magic and armor and monsters and all that cool stuff.

I haven't given it much thought, but just off the top of my head, I'm guessing it would be something involving an image of Lucy Liu that would likely get me sued by her if she ever found out about it. :D

I would definitely lock the door. Too many people walk in on other people's running programs.

Sports. I am terrible at virtually any sport, so it would be fun to set the programming so that I was "good" and could feel what it was like to have a full stadium cheering for me.

Probably the world from a miniature perspective. As a fan of the movie "Honey, I Shrunk The Kids." I've always loved the atmosphere the movie gave. A giant adventure in one's back yard. It would be fun to explore my own yard from that small of size.

I'm not going to lie, there would be a lot of banging going on.

Hmm... I'd probably do what Scotty did in Relics. Recreate the Original E and just tour the whole ship. There's so many things you could do in the holodecks. I wonder just how many humans in the Trek universe are locked away in a holodeck.

I presume we're talking non-sex stuff...

Anyone seen that movie Pleasantville? Where the Tobey Maguire & Reese Witherspoon characters become characters from said TV show and get to re-enact episodes etc. Basically I think it'd be cool to do that my favourite movies, tv shows etc
Buffy the Vampire Slayer springs to mind as something I'd choose, or something like The Avengers.

For all its criticisms that's one thing I really do like about ENT: "These Are The Voyages", that it shows us how holonovels work. Which you never really get to see too in-depth in other episodes of TNG, DS9 & VOY (esp where they don't end up malfunctioning for the sake of the plot)
ie. how Riker could take on various roles in the program- an officer on the bridge, a MACO, etc. And then could also switch to 'Objective Mode' and just observe the action without playing anyone. I thought that was interesting.

Me too! I would want to play the role of Xander (Harris), especially the episodes with either Cordelia Chase or Anya (Anyanka/Aud) or both. Then replay each episode cast as Angel, then Spike (William the Bloody), then (Rupert) Giles, and then Oz (Daniel Osbourne).

Original N64 Goldeneye 007 game. (I love that game to no end!)
Kobayashi Maru Test. (I have my own ideas about how to win THAT one!)

How about the VR simulation that Moriarty was put into. Just plug that little cube thing into a running holodeck and have real people come and visit with him.
And I assume that holodecks can be networked like XBoxes and Playstations are today. People from all over the Galaxy could come and interact with him.
Or with all of those networked holodecks you could have something similar to the VR world from Caprica.
We've seen them do all sorts of things with holodecks. But I've never seen networked holodecks. That would be cool.

- An original story based in the world of TLoU.
- Live out The Vampire Chronicles as Lestat.
- Baseball sim vs. the all timers.

Excluding sexytimes, playing/watching sporting events, wars, TV programs, films, videogames, books, comics, etc. The possibilities are endless!

I'd create a programme where I'm some below average dick in the early 21st century, living on the east coast of Scotland with a mediocre life, a meaningless job, who goes on the internet and talks crap from time to time

Occasionally (just to spice things up a little) I'd program it so that a man brings pizza to my house

Formula 1 driver, any number of cars.
Basketball - play with an all-star team of multiple players from different generations. Matrix rules breaking in effect for myself of course.
WW2 - I loved the premise of Inglorious Basterds, roaming the country side picking fights here and there against the Nazi's.
Roman Empire - play out Assassin's creed during this time period.
Fuedal Japan - Be a Ninja.

I'd holodeck the last day at my job before I retire so I could let fly all the things I'm planning on saying and doing to the various jerkoffs I've had to deal with over the years.........Man that would be sweet.
