I know for a fact that a holo deck and my mental predilections would be a very bad combination. I would end up going down the Reg Barclay route. 
A few years ago I might have gone down the same Reg Barclay route and lived in the holodeck, but getting married helped. 
Apart from the other more, erm, fruitful uses for a holodeck, I think it would be like a futuristic games console. So Mass Effect 50, Guitar Hero 2364 and all that.

Best flight sim ever. From flying a F4U Corsair off carriers in the South Pacific. To flying a Mosquito bomber as a 'Dambuster' Through flying all of the best jets like the F-4, F-14 and F-18 off of modern carriers. Plus the new F-35.

Most likely I would insert myself into some of my favourite video games so I could actually be that main character rather than just play that character, or even insert myself into my favourite TV shows.
