What would you change about the TOS Enterprise?

I wouldn't change anything in the design, just the scale. I'd have had it as big at E-D was in TNG and increased the crew size. The ship always seemed very small for a starship spending five years in interstellar space, and it's crew of 430 sounded undersized, too.

Edited to add, the deflector dish looks a bit dated. Maybe I'd change it a bit. Of course, they did that to the refitted Enterprise. So, in keeping with the differences between original and refit, it'd be somewhere in between.

I'd keep the dish but redesign it to look less 1955. The trend of having lots of glowly things on ships just makes me think of Christmas ornaments rather than vehicles, so I'm not a fan of the big illuminated deflector.

Yeah, that's about what I meant. Home TV satellite dishes today look more modernistic than the dish on TOS Enterprise. To me, it dates an otherwise timeless design. Maybe just keep the dish, paint it a non-metallic color, get rid of the "feed horn" (or whatever it's called), and not have the dish it stick out so far from the ship. That would be an improvement, IMO.

By the way, I also have some suggestions for improving the "Mona Lisa".

Nice. Like others said, it's a little flat, but I'm amazed at the effort. It could use some more distinctive lighting. It's definitely in the right direction. I would love to learn how to do that.

I'm also astonished that that's my Enterprise. Excellent job.
