What would we do without TV?

I don't even own a TV. There's never something on anyway. And even if I were to buy one, I'd just use it to watch DVD's or stuff I've downloaded off the internet.

Seriously, the entire nature of this forum almost completely relies on Telivision programs. But what if there was no TV, would this forum even exist? Would people be here discussing anything? Would we all be dead? Would we all actually be outside talking with people face to face?

The way I've been reading Star Trek books lately and I haven't even wanted a new series because I enjoy the novels so much. I have a feeling that without TV Star Trek could have been conceived in literature form. It's not as action dependent as other science fictions and it lends well to novelization by its very nature.

Personally, I would be in friggin' heaven. TV is currently the bane of my existence. There is almost nothing worth watching, yet -- in our house -- it is on constantly. I have literally considered destroying all of our TVs, just to see what would happen. In addition to divorce, that is.

I only have tv and cable so that my son can watch hockey. If he didnt love the sport i'd probably ditch the cable.

The amount of TV I watch is gradually diminishing anyway. My bedroom TV doesn't have an aerial or a Freeview/Cable/Satellite box attached to it, just my games consoles and my DVD player.

While a number of my favourite shows have come to an end lately, they're being replaced by spin-offs I'm interested in seeing (Caprica, Stargate Universe etc). I've only watched Dollhouse so far because it's Joss' show. Apart from that, I'm not likely to watch a new show not based on some existing franchise that I'm already interested in.

I can definitely see the day when I don't watch any TV other than sport anymore.

must admit i wouldn't miss TV. very rarely watch any programs anyway, just got the TV for DVD,s and games. anything else i have the radio or the internet.
