I think I would have enjoyed S5. That said, I think the bit about the Romulans choosing a particular region of space because it would impede visual communication is just too contrived to be believable. It makes much more sense that they didn't communicate visually by choice and self-destructed their vessels to prevent boarding and capture, period. That's much easier to believe and far less contrived. Additionally, it would make for, IMO, an interesting story to have the Vulcans engaging in a passive cover-up regarding the enemy, simply not telling the rest of the alliance about their suspicions, but periodically dropping hints that they knew things that the others did not. With the recovery of Surak's teachings, that would make for a good storyline, with internal tensions on Vulcan as the High Command's old guard uses the war to reassert themselves and/or persuading the New Order not to tell the others in the alliance for fear that a backlash may occur with respect to the Andorians and the more xenophobic elements among the humans.

i always believed there had to be a cover up done about the connection between the romulans and vulcans.
possibly tied into the good of the federation.
the needs of the many could very possibly allow for this lie.
it isnt realistic even if the romulans didnt allow visual communication that there never was a romulan body some place blown out of an exploding ship/.
there could even be a warning set out that ships were not to retrieve bodies due to fear of their being booby trapped (which the romulan commander did do in balance of terror)
and instead they were retrieved by something like section 31 or the vulcan equal of it.
and i could see why some of the vulcan and even human leadership could see how this knowledge could hurt the formation of the federation with both the andorians and even a lot of humans.
especially if it is known by a few just how much influence the romulans had within vulcan leadership for awhile due to vlas.
and yes thanks to tos and episodes like errand of mercy and enterprise incident a vulcan will lie for the benefit of the greater good.
i also liked the idea of harris and 31 stalking around causing malcolm grief and possibly more of the back story on how malcolm got involved and why he got out.

I remember Dominic Keating in an interview was disappointed that Reed's backstory about being in Section 31 and his dislike of Harris wasn't dealt with in more detail. In the few episodes we saw his background in Section 31 was mysterious. I wish it would've been explored especially what undercover mission went wrong and his anger at Harris that was never explained in Divergence/Affliction.
Funny, the Wikipedia entry doesn't meantion something else Coto spoke of on occasion, which is the build up to the Romulan War and the continuation of the "founding of the Federation" storyline. Brannon Braga recently also said that had they known they'd get a season five, they wouldn't have ended the Temporal Cold War storyline so quickly. It would have had a more organic, interesting conclusion. Coto has also said, I believe, that the fallout from Terra Prime would have continued to be felt.
That's interesting news Zane the way the Temporal Cold war was wrapped up was to say the least left you all kinds of unanswered questions about the different factions battling it out for control. And the Romulan war that's what i was interested in finding out What happened to V'Las and his partners in crime.Plus the Romulan spies who were causing so much trouble for evryone else. I think seeing the repercussions of Terra Prime was a good idea.

I wonder what Shran's post on the Enterprise would have been.
I'm guessing that he would have taken Major Hayes' place as commander of the MACOs. Shran would be a natural for the job, since he is a veteran soldier in his own right and has lots of experience commanding troops (as well as his own ship).
And it would probably be one of the few crew postings that Shran wouldn't immediately reject as being 'beneath' him.

Y'know, I hate to sound like a party pooper, but sometimes I doubt the authenticity of the proposed episodes. It seemed like most on the production staff knew ENT was going to be over by season 4. I wonder how many of these ideas were fully fleshed out or were just one sentence long (and subsequently filled in by fans).
