What We Left Behind - Documentary Update Confirms *Some* HD Remastering

Only issue with Damar dying is the show didn't really have someone to sort of take the reins as a character to rebuild Carddissia. Tora Ziyal being alive would have been handy during this final arc. Half Bajoran/Carddisian who had been a slave and was nothing like her farther. A pretty good symbol for change.

I think Garak is an excellent choice to rebuild Cardassia. He is intelligent, understands the mistakes that were made, and is a patriot. He did some very questionable things, but who better to avoud things in the future than soneone who knows what those deeds were and what they lead to?

I just finished reading "A Stitch in Time" last night. I don't think there's anything there that precludes Garak from eventually leading Cardassia. They were just laying the groundwork of democracy at the end of the book.
I would love to at least see or hear a reference to a retired Chairman Garak during STP/PIC
I think the understanding of the devastation and chaos left in Cardassia was a pretty good way to end it there. Nothing was going to be easy for them going forward. That is the kind of power vacuum that doesn't get resolved peacefully, generally speaking. The sad thing was that every calamity visited upon the Cardassians could have been avoided. They did it to themselves but it didn't make it less tragic.
Damar killed Ziyal. I would have been annoyed it he hadn't died as a sort of punishment for that, even though I agree he tried to redeem himself.
I sort of regret that I missed my opportunity to see the documentary in a theater, if for no other reason than it would have been the perfect excuse to wear my Jadzia Dax T-shirt in public, but besides the fact that it was physically impossible for me to go, I didn't think I would have gotten that much more out of it so soon after watching it during the period that it was streaming. Also, I wasn't too keen on the thought of paying full price for a ticket after I'd already donated enough to the Indiegogo to get the DVD/Blu-ray, which, having watched the documentary, I hate to say I now feel some remorse over.
I did like What We Left Behind, but I wouldn't say that I liked it that much that I need a physical copy to watch over and over again. I mean, I remember enjoying myself the first time I saw the documentary Trekkies in the theater, and then the next time I watched it was almost two decades later.
While I wouldn't necessarily call this a flaw with the documentary, and I doubt it would have been a problem I'd need to worry about, as I watched WWLB, I couldn't help thinking that it would have made for a really bad date movie (unless your date's a Trekkie), since it's not very accessible to non-fans.
I just hope the supplemental material that'll be on the Blu-ray will be on the DVD as well. I kind of thought I'd have a Blu-ray player by the time the documentary was released, which was supposed to be over a year ago, but I had the luxury of being a little more frivolous with my money when the crowdfunding campaign was going on than I do now. If that weren't the case, I might not currently be feeling quite so ambivalent about the final product as I am, but I just don't know if this thing was worth nearly forty dollars. Also, I may be the only person who really doesn't care about seeing DS9 in HD.

I have three Trek shirts and I wear them in public all the time. I see so many Star Wars shirts so it doesn't make a difference to me.
That's awesome. Of course the ultimate fan experience is to mix fandom attire. Try wearing a Star Trek shirt with a Star Wars hat!
