What was wrong with "These are the Voyages"

Well shoot, JiNX, why'd you wait 26 pages into this thread to tell us your thoughts on the matter? :p

I don't care that Jonathan and Marina were older and had put on a few pounds.

I cared that they got more screen time than the CAST OF ENTERPRISE!!!! :klingon: And that none of their scenes added anything of substance to the story.

I COMPLETELY AGREE!!!

Tough I do think the slimline Starfleet uniforms are less than flattering once there is middle aged spread. Those TNG jackets Picard used to wear sometimes would have covered done well by them.

But.

TATV is TOTAL CRAP.

Frakes and Sirtis were less than inspired in it too IMHO. SO FREAKING BORING. Just what I never ever ever wanted to see, an emo story about Riker.

:scream:

but even I'm getting a little creeped out by all the "Frakes and Sirtis were so fat!" remarks

Ladies and gentleman of this supposed jury, the prosecution rests. :p

Is there truth to the rumour that the TNG costumes were designed by Stevie Wonder?

Okay, I'll be frank. TATV Troi is still a damn fine looking woman.

But, her looks have clearly changed since The Pegasus. Trying to pass her off as her younger self is insulting to the audience - the same holds true for Riker.

Add to that the fact that the TNG plot of TATV simply does not gel with the plot of The Pegasus, and you have a perfect case for why it should have been set on the Titan.

Whatever you do, don't tell her Trip gets killed.
Holograms can't be killed.

People seemed to have no problem with how the TNG crew aged when they played their past selves in AGT. How Troi and Riker looked in TATV didn't bother me at all. I don't think TATV was that awful.. It just wasn't as awesome as it should have been. I look at Terra Prime as the ENT finale and TATV as a coda to the series, kinda like what M*A*S*H used to do when they had that reporter guy come and interview the staff..

You may want to re-calibrate your sarcasm detector, Chief Engineer... ;)

Er, what? I made a joke (a playfully willful misinterpretation of reality) to point out that the TATV haters are repeating themselves ad nauseum in this thread. You missed this joke entirely, instead providing a thorough list of all the posts in which you said the same thing again and again. I therefore pointed out that your sarcasm detector seemed to have missed the thrust of my quip.

If there's any sense to your suggesting I brush up on counting, therefore, the cheese is in the alley and my dog danced a Wednesday. ;)

The one time I met Jinx, we had dinner together and I thought she was going to hit me when I tried to defend TATV. She got really angry about it!!

Today it has been six years since ENT ended. It seems just like the other day. At the time I was ready for Trek to take a break but looking back now I really do miss ENT, the posters it brought in, the high traffic activity on the board and the comfort of just having a Trek show on the air. And now seeing what we got to replace it--Trek 09--I feel now more than ever that my Trek--TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT--ended with TATV.

It did. The new movie is a new era of Star Trek.
For many diehards, the old Trek ended with Endgame. I personally consider ENT to be a bridge between the two universes, but yes, nuTrek is a huge step away from that too.

But the "new era of ST" bit made me chuckle. I'm happy that this new era came, because we had 15 years ('87 - '02) of basically same old stuff, getting rehashed and recycled.

I am HIGHLY impressed with Jinx's rage.

Maybe I should calculate my own contributions to this thread (MAY IT NEVER DIE).

Oh and Gaith, I like your use of the term "ad nauseum". So apropos!
