Teacake, I really like that explanation of why Reed might have been drawn to the spoilery thing, makes a lot of sense. I really wish they'd done more with that too, though unfortunately the revelation came at just the wrong time, just before the series got cancelled. Very much agree about the stereotyping the British vs what's just his personality, though I kind of wish the writers had always been able to tell the difference too. I think Keating actually did a really good job of keeping him the right side of parody at times.
Garak, I can't help thinking was a little bit seductively aggressive towards Bashir at first because he could tell it was making him nervous. One of the things I like most about the two of them is how it developed organically from there into a real friendship, and the way both characters grew with it (no innuendo intended
