That would work nicely on so many levels. Rua'fo would list the Borg, the Cardassians and the Dominion among "past" UFP enemies (or challengers from "the last 24 months" as he puts it). The UFP would in turn be able to at least tolerate these people who had aided and abetted the enemy in the last big one.
...And the Son'a would probably time their whole plan so that it would help them bargain for their future in front of the victors of the recent war, as the Son'a had decidedly been on the losing side. If not for such a pressing political reason, they would probably not have bothered to deal with the Federation at all, since the only thing they really needed and wanted to do would have been to sail in with the collector thing, fire it, and get eternal youth for themselves plus a painful death for the Ba'ku.
