What unseen TOS tech would you like to see?

^
^^Well, I wouldn't want to ruin your riddle by giving away the punchline, but here's a clue for the non-fans....it has something to do with the Star Trek episode that included Lt. Alden and Yeoman Smith. ;)

I want to see what's behind the windows in the nacelle struts. The worst cabins in the ship?

Huh? I'm thoroughly confused by that comment. Are you saying that you think that the quartermaster would be the navigator?

The turbolift...

-Is there only one car??

-If there are multiple cars, does one "move aside" to let the other one pass?

-Can I take the same turbolift from the bridge all the way down to the secondary (engineering) hull, possibly by means of a sideways-moving car. Or must I get out of the lift in the midddle of the saucer, walk down a corridor, then board another lift that will take me down through the "neck" to the secondary hull?

Hmmm????

I wanna see the zero-g combat training room that Kirk mentions in TAS Jihad.

Dude! That would be cool. It does seem rather silly that it's been indicated that the main characters have limited zero-g experience (well, Worf has an excuse, at least).

If they did something like that, it'd be nice to see them rent out and green screen up an ol' Vomit Comet, rather than do wire work. You can really spot the difference, and it'd be a nice touch for a modern Trek.

There's only one car... and it follows the captain around. Everybody else has to use the ladders! ;)

I still think bowel and bladder "beam outs" explain the apparently toilet free future we see in trek. :D
That would be one Peculiar sensation!

What goes on behind the doors of a Selector? Kirk ordered a chicken sandwich and coffee and got tribbles, one day.

Not necessarily a tech that I'd like to see, but rather I'd like to see a fully populated starship like in TMP with a variety of alien and human crew members. I'd also like to see more of the "lived-in" future that was prevalent in the early episodes of the first season -- i.e. microtapes littering the conference table, double-doors on the turbolift, people working on equipment in the corridors rather than traversing them, coffee cups and trays in the rec room, and people drinking coffee on the bridge.

That is one thing that always bugged me about TNG. On DS9 and Voyager, we frequently saw people drinking beverages while working. Janeway often drank coffee on the bridge, they made as big a deal out of her love of brew as they did out of "Earl Grey, hot" with Picard. I'm pretty sure we've seen Kira with her raktijino or Bajoran tea on the bridge, and I know we've seen Miles and his coffee.

But on TNG it would seem that bridge members go entire shifts without drinking or eating.

Personally, I want to see a proper engine room, not that tiny little lab like place where Scotty spent all his time...

Also in terms of rooms, I'd like to see the Auboretum (spl) the Recreation Rooms, the lounge areas, the science labs, the library and computer cores, cargo bays, docking umbilical corridors, and finally some of the public lavatory areas, 23rd Century humans gotta pee!

In terms of tech, I'd like to see other starships that are not Constitution Class (a nice shot of the old Enterprise NX museum ship in dock perhaps) as well as saucer seperation, probes, tractor beam (with the beam please), lifeboats (even if not used) the orbital facility where enterprise is built and commissioned from, dock offices with activity happening, and finally, Corridors with repairs being done, rather than random redshirts walking around in a 60's hippy daze :)

I guess I will need to wait for those sequals to see it all...

If Abrams has any sense, which i highly expect, then there will be next to NO references to previous/future shows what so ever apart from the few nods, but barely noticeable if your not Trek savvy. That was something Enterprise was terrible at doing, referencing the future of the timeline... 'Phase Pistols, Photonic Torpedoes, Reed Alert, Prime directive and pish i cant bring myself to think of.

Personally, i doubt we'll see the Akiraprise from the alternate 22nd century or any of its crew, i doubt we'll even have, well, but a few, nods to the other main events in TOS and its movies, but apart from that, nothing, at least thats my point of view.

Abbrams will want this to be his baby, obviously, so i dont think it will be crammed with references.

Anyway, i went a bit off track there... Sorry, got a bit carried away.

So yeah, i agree with pretty much what you have just said. Although, i would love to see a big rec-deck, with large windows and inspired recreational equipment.

What i would also love is for them to go back and maybe use some original sketches as a base and maybe develop something that wont necessarily be used, but just be there say on a shelf or part of a working machine.

As for equipment, well, thats a difficult one for me, i have probably hundreds i would like to see properly... A maintenance/repair shuttle, torpedo launchers and phaser banks, The Loo, the red-shirt replicator, Kirks girdle warehouse...
