What to do with an empty wall?

I don't have any wall in my room that is even close to empty. I've got cool paintings, posters and pictures (some of them signed). My favorites are my posters of John Locke and Olivia Dunham.
Okay, here is the wall in question:

It would actually be the perfect spot for a desk or a bookcase, but I already have one of each on the wall behind the couch.

Me too. That's what my house looks like! Leave it alone. It's fine the way it is.
Get a wall shelf and put a couple of candles on it or something. Or a mirror or a clock.
You can never have too much open space.
I still like the poster idea. The right poster would brighten up that wall, but at the same time, depending on what you put in there, it could also look clean and classy.
Or loud and colorful, or funny and cheesy, or whatever your personal preference is.
How about a b/w photo or poster? I have a vintage National Park Service poster of sand dunes - shot by Ansel Adams, no less, waaaay back when - that hangs in my office and it is both decorative and soothing. I love looking at it.

I think you need a nice sideboard along that wall, with some cupboards in the base to store the stuff you've got piled up around your television. The music system could stand on the sideboard. And those little square tables could be spaced out a little. The one on the right would look nice with some flowers on, with the console underneath. Could your sofa be moved closer to the window and turned square to the room so you're not sat looking into a corner?
My Empty Wall Space™ at home has been occupied by a fancy Indian rug nailed to it, with the sofa below. It looks great.

Eh, I like the way it's set up. Those little tables could be spaced a bit, sure, but that's not really what I'm worried about.
I kind of want to put a little bar or something along that wall.

But yeah, I'd stick some sort of sideboard there, and them maybe a [knockoff] three-piece art-print, something to open up the room a bit.
Something some I knew, years back, did in their basement apartment was they went and found a view they really loved from the city, took a photo of it, had it blown up and then mounted in a framed made to look like a window. A bit silly, to be sure, but surprising how much bigger the room felt.
If you don't mind spending some scratch: Discount store, get some replacement DVD cases, then download and print new covers for your DVDS. Bango, custom DVD display.
