What to do with an empty wall?

My new apartment's living room is slightly larger than my old one. As result, I was able to leave it a bit more open. However, I now have this whole wall that isn't doing anything. It feels naked and lonely, and I don't know what to do with it. I've already got the usual living room things, as well as my computer desk on the opposite wall.

I kinda want a foosball table.

I don't know about you, but I'm in serious need of a bookshelf. My DVDs are stacked two levels high on top of my dresser right now.

I made an executive decision (and I kind of regret it) last year to put all my DVDs into a leather case, so I threw away all my boxes. Had I not done that, a bookshelf is exactly what I would need.

Are you looking to hang something on said wall? Or is there a lack of furniture there as well?

I also have a problem with a blank wall in my house--and a high, vaulted ceiling only makes it that much more obvious. That said, I do at least have furniture against it, but am STILL left with a lot of space. Posters are damn expensive, though, especially framed!

I leave it blank.
For me, too much clutter means too many distractions.

This is my room. As you can see, I have a grand total of two things on my wall. After that, it's all blank space.

I don't go out of my way to fill my house up with stuff. If I don't need something, I don't have it. I find that the 'clean' look can be very refreshing - and clutter, on the other hand, is often ugly.

I don't even have wallpaper or colored paint of any kind - my home's walls are all white and unadorned.

Basically, in the end: Emptiness is efficiency.

This is my solution in a similar situation. I fly the flag in the bed of my pickup truck on occasional patriotic holidays, but display it there at all other times.

Mirrors can improve the look of a space. You have something to look at on the wall that is decorative, and it can increase the feeling of spaciousness in a small area.

Pretty much all of my walls are blank too. I've been seriously tempted a few times to take out a marker and draw random diagrams and symbols all over one of them. Or maybe a giant collage comprised of post-it notes... hmm.

I have a bunch of posters, but I got them all from work. I don't like the idea of being surrounded by work-related posters, even if the art on them is nice.

The wall itself is rather large. I actually do have a framed poster from the new Star Trek movie towards one end of it, but the other end is very empty.

I think I want some furniture there, though. I hate wasted space. I should take a picture...

If I go for decorations at all, they're always minimalist.

There's a fireplace in my apartment, with a mantel over it. The entire mantel is empty, save for a lineup of Matrushka dolls at one end. I rather like the effect.

Hmm...emptiness doesn't work for me. I think part of it comes from being an "artist"--albeit amateur...I like it best when there is something interesting for my eyes to focus on. (Heck, that's even one reason I like DS9--beyond just the plot, characters, and so on...even the Cardassian architecture is so fascinating to me, and very soothing to my eyes.)
