What the hell happened with the Abydos Pyramid?

Considering what they did in Season 4 when they needed to show one actually landing (they made a special, one-shot-only CG model of a four-sided Ha'Tak), no, no one knows how that's supposed to work.

I would've taken the opportunity to make the center part of the ship four-sided and leave the halo triangular during any one of the many times they totally redid the model, but what do I know?

Perhaps. But the pyramid would still need to have a smooth exterior to match the ones on Earth. They were both presumably designed as landing pads, so I'd imagine they were built to spec.

Maybe the limestone was added to the Earth pyramids after Ra left - ... maybe so he couldn't get any traction or something ...

If you get Limestone in a cut - it stings like b*gg*ry - maybe thats why - he'd go running back to his sarcophagus with tears streaming from his eyes and whimpering like a baby.
