[yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YAsGggoysOQ&feature=related[/yt] This is an aria written for Farinelli, one of the greatest castrato singers of the 18th century, sung by one of my favourite sopranos.
I've been listening to CD's someone tossed in the dumpster near where I work. The Best of the Kinks, Foreigner's The Very Best of..., Pink's Mizz Undaztood (should I admit that?) and Sarah McLachlan's Surfacing. The Kinks are those bands, I know some of their songs...but if someone asked "Who did that song?", I'd have no idea. They were just a bit before my time.
I've been on a Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac kick lately Just listened to "Beautiful Child"--it makes you appreciate what a great songwriter she is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDTTI2UVcMQ
