This makes me cry, as I've been listening to random songs.
I'd like to thank a recent commercial, since now I have this song stuck in my head.
Yea that song is incredible. The way he sings it is so different than how NIN performed it. You can feel the history and the pain there.

It has a rather patronizing or cynical feel to me today that I didn't pick up on before. I guess I never listened that closely to the words in the past. It mentions the Beatles "selling" their music and loving the music when the "words" don't get in the way. Folk music was quickly replaced by the British Invasion music so maybe they were a little bitter. I know that they didn't write this song, but it echoes some things Mary Travers said, though.
