Star Trek V got me into Trek (I was a kid), but it led me to TNG, so I suppose then that TNG did it. But TNG got me to actively search out for TOS soon after, so in a sense, it came around full circle.

I was born in 1984, and my dad was a Trek fan, so I honestly don't remember a time when I wasn't aware of who the TOS and TNG characters were. I probably got into Trek more due to TOS though, I remember we had some VHS copies of some episodes and the movies I'd watch all the time.

Same here, born in 84', father was a fan, and we had many Star Trek VHS's but TNG peaked my interest.

It was TNG for me. I was "there" at the height of it's popularity, and my interest in the other iterations of the franchise span off from that.

I watched reruns of TOS in the 70's as a kid. Then I really got hooked by the movies and TNG.

I consider TNG and VOY to be my favorite series now.

...Original Run of TOS, I was ages 9-11...then reruns in the Chicago Market with model building, James Blish books, collecting, and behind the scenes publications...then each of the next incarnations of Original Runs, again in Chicago Market...now DVDs, this forum and continued collecting...

Original run of TOS (though I really remember the syndication run, but have taped proof of watching it when it first ran). Even as a youngster I wasn't blind to the bad in TOS, but first love, you focus on the stuff that was awesome.

TNG is my favorite cast, DS9 my favorite show, and ENT in many ways is the felt the most like TOS to me. Though in fairness, Trek09 actually felt like TOS, more then any TOS film ever did.

I was born in 1972, so i grew up watching TOS in syndication. I was able to see TMP and every other film in the theater when released, but didn't become a full Trekkie until ST4.

I went to my first convention in mid 1987 and was thrilled to see a preview for TNG.

I grew up in the sixties, so I had been a Trekkie for decades before the latter-day series came along. We're talking conventions, novels, comics . . the whole nine yards.

And, yeah, TOS remains my touchstone where Trek is concerned.

In the fall of 1973, one of our local stations began airing TOS afternoons after school and that is what brought me to Star Trek.

I watched the original series in the 70s, but it was actually TWOK that turned me into a fanatic and cemented my permanent membership in the fraternity of Trekkies.

TOS. I started watching when I was about 4 years old. A couple of years later, TNG premiered, and I was smitten ever since.

The Original Series. WKBG (later WLVI) in Boston and WJAR in Providence aired the syndicated episodes. I also watched The Animated Series during its first run, but don't remember much about it.

Although my knee-jerk reaction would be to say The Original Series, it was more likely The Animated Series based on my age. This never would have occurred to me had it not been mentioned in something I read years ago. The article pointed out that Trekkies around my age (I'm currently 43) were probably first exposed to Star Trek via the Saturday morning cartoon. And since I have distinct childhood memories of watching TAS, that was probably what did if for me!

I know I was at least aware of Trek before, but the point where I really started getting into it was when I saw TWOK when I was 8. So it was technically the movies, but for this poll I guess I'd have to pick TOS.
