IMO a generic Federation fleet should've consisted of more of the Wolf 359 kitbashes. I know lost of people hate especially the Challenger and Freedom classes, but I like both of them, especially the Freedom. A few ships with newer components would've rounded out the fleet nicely, and the New Orleans and Cheyenne both look like they would be hero ships in their own right.
Also, the Saber class and Nebula class were drastically underused in DS9 fleet battles, and maybe even the Luna class could've made an appearance.
There were lots of Sabers in the fleet shots, at least as many as the Akiras and Steamrunners
I would've liked to see a couple Sabers instead of the two Miranda class starships we had covering the Defiant. Could've been a chance for them to show off the new models too.
The scene could have been shot differently to accommodate the models. Honestly the ships were way too close together. This is outer space and they’re flying at mind boggling speeds even at sunlight. Which there’s little reason to maintain anyway. That close, even without atmosphere the explosive force of even a single torpedo should be knocking ships into each other.I think you messed up the quoting function there
Anyway, they wouldn’t have used Sabers instead of those two Mirandas because the three FC ships were low poly and wouldn’t have looked good up close. Conversely, the CGI Mirandas were scanned from the original filming model and had all of the details of that model.
They should have. The times they do you feel it more viscerally and connect stronger.I seriously doubt they were worried about IRL concerns. If they were, we would have heard silence when those ships flew by or when they were being shot at, because sound doesn't travel through the vacuum of space.

Lol you’re not going to find reality in most science fiction but it’s a matter of degrees, of style. When Trek, or any sci-fi, leans toward verisimilitude it’s easier to give yourself over to the illusion, to become invested in both the effects and the story.Really? I can’t think of a single time that Star Trek did anything that was scientifically accurate where space travel was concerned.

So, besides the three First Contact models, the Excelsior, Miranda, Galaxy, Nebula, and Defiant classes, there were no other models they could've used? I thought an Oberth appeared in the battle of Sector 001. I know it was at least as old as the Miranda class, but it still could've added variety to the fleet. Did something happen to that model too, or was it not CGI?
