The ship that is in the opening credits, appears just before enterprise does.

This is the ship that appears just before Enterprise in the opening credits. This is Zephram Cochrane's first warp ship from the TNG movie "First Contact."

This is the ship being tested in ENT's "First Flight" by AJ Robinson.

And yes, the Vulcans are present to try and derail the efforts...classic competition / comradery between Archer and Robinson to overcome the technical challenges as well as the political obstacles. Great episode in many ways~

"First Flight" was indeed an excellent episode, but I found it rather stupid that it took humanity another 80 years just to reach Warp 2. I can buy the Vulcans withholding technological information, but once the warp barrier's breached I can't buy humans taking that long to improve upon it. They should have been at least at Warp 3 by 2020, IMO.

But I'm also of the opinion that Earth should have had a bit more of a presence in the greater galactic community, instead of the NX-01 being its first true exploration vessel. So whatever.
