What other aliens would we want to see in the future in season 3?

It took me 22 years to realize this, but I think Annorax might've been a parody of Trekkies who want the perfect timeline. Even if that weren't the intent (and I don't actually think it was), it retroactively works that way. No matter what Annorax did, he could never get it to 100%.

To my understanding, "Anorak" in the UK (plural: "Annoraks") is a pejorative term accorded nitpicky science fiction fans. Often aimed at Doctor Who viewers, it could apply to anyone under the umbrella of sci-fi/fantasy. It's not the most subtle possible 4th wall joke, but by no means the least. Thankfully the plot and acting keep the viewer from thinking too much into his name and involved in the characters' various plights. Even engendering sympathy for Annorax himself, which isn't an easy task but was a (sometimes overused) trademark of 24th century Trek!

And noting many of VOY's makers were involved in TNG, which features a number of Doctor Who references and/or callbacks ("Argolis Cluster" being my favorite, as well as the family tree showing how all the Doctor incarnations to that point were (both parents, x3 as McCoy's name wasn't on the list that I could tell) for the unfrozen lady's various lineage and should have been on the blu-ray as a bonus feature freeze-frame but oh well... Crusher was gleefully babbling about Cybermen in the classic "11001001"... there's also-- oops, I'm showing my big anorak, aren't I...?)

Shoot! I didn't think I'd actually unintentionally hit upon what they were going for!

Another Doctor Who in-joke: The Doctor. I think they didn't give him a name on purpose, as a nod. Then, in "Endgame" in the alternate future, of all the names they settled on, it turns out to be... Joe. ;)

Not that there's anything wrong with having the name Joe! I don't want to get hit with a bunch of posters who suddenly say, "Hey! My name's Joe!" :p

Species I would like to see:
-Tholians
-Iconians
-Tzenkethi
-Species 8472
-Vaadwaur
-Xindi
-Jarada
-Founders/Dominion
-Voth
-Swarm
-Caitians

The Dominion races. What happened to them after the fall of the founders?
The Ferengi. Are they still greedy, superficial capitalists? 800 years is a long time.
The Breen. Still have no clue what their culture is like.

In the Enterprise episode "Future Tense", the body they found in the timeship from the future had DNA that showed it to be a mix of multiple known species, and some unknown at the time, and going back generations. So in Trek's future, it seems that there will be a lot of inter-species breeding, and possibly the average Federation citizen hundreds of years hence is a mix of different Federation species. Or, at least, there are a lot of multiple mixed-species Federation citizens.

Of course, who don't know what time period that ship came from - it could have come from another thousand years past the 31st century, when some sort of Federation is reestablished. But assuming that it comes form the period where the Federation had and used time travel technology - the 29th to the 31st century, then in the period that Disco arrives in, we should see people who are mixes of multiple species, not just "pure blood" Andorians, Humans, Vulcans - even those ugly Tellarties - etc.

And so that's what I'd like to see. Mutts. Mixes of various Trek species.

(And some Xindi, I want to see some Xindi...)

Actually Anorak is a word in german for a winterproofed jacked with a hood :rommie:

Same in English, in Britain at least. That's where the perjorative term comes from. They are considered an unfashionable style, and stereotypically worn by certain types of people (I think, originally trainspotters wearing glasses , anoraks and carrying clipboards). The people themselves started being named after the coats, then it was applied to all people with "nerdy" tendencies.

1. Borg Cooperative has replaced the Collective and applying for membership in the Galactic Federation.
2. The Machine Planet that constructed the ship for Voyager 6.
3. Federation granted observer status in the far, far away Galactic Republic.
4. Metrons, Organians, the Prophets and other "ascended" species, who have their own Federation
5. Revisit some TOS worlds, like the Iconians and Eminiar 7, see how they are doing.
6. Xindi
7. Kazon (let's imagine that they have become interesting by then)
8. Species 8472 (Maybe with their own name for themselves and not the Borg designation.
