Replace "Democrats" with "Republicans", and you know exactly where I'm at.

He wants them off his lawn, and into cages.

Kids cartoons nowadays have no sarcasm like ours did. They seem to combine forced pro social lessons and dopamine triggered toy merchandising.

Can you imagine we had Garfield and Friends and Ren & Stimpy? No way today’s parents would let absurdist stuff that satirizes culture and take’s the kid’s side against patronizing prosocial messages get on the air.

No Buddy Bears for today’s kids.

Too late. I didn't like the sagging pants thing. Never did. Anything else has been, is, and will be an improvement.

So, yeah, you all got a "get off my lawn" comment out of me. ;)

I remember 80s cartoons being a parade of blatant toy ads. Sometimes with a message about sharing or not doing drugs or whatever tacked on the end.

Shaky cam needs to get off my lawn. It's still a thing apparently, because I saw a new movie with it the other day. When done to excess, as it almost always is, it gives me a headache. In those rare cases when it's artfully done*, I can handle.

But you're a Republican now or were a Republican that became Democrat? People often do change parties, even to less popular ones or even from less popular ones. A myriad of reasons can exist...

Like "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe" from the early 1980s? :D Or "Fat Albert" from the 1970s though that one had some sarcasm... just no toys, unfortunately as the junkyard setting would have allowed a lot of add-on packs... and "Picture Pages" tie-in with the stupid noisy pen...

Not even kudos for trying a new fashion style? Then again, flared trousers or shirts with bold bright colors and with shoulder pads made from cedar planks were appealing so what do I know...

    Umm, yeaaaaaahhhhhh..... No.

Sagging skinny jeans. 'nuf said. Either wear them loose or wear them tight. But don't sag them and have it both ways. That just looks ridiculous.

I don't see it much these days, but it was a thing for a while.

    mockingbirds

I hate them. I seriously hate the local mockingbird population. I don't want to hate them. I like birds.

    Except these.

Atticus Finch doesn't know what the hell he's talking about. Mockingbirds are horrible vile creatures that bully other songbirds, especially the local chickadees they ran off, scare my cat, dive bomb anyone within a 2 mile radius of their nest and in general are utter bastards. It's annoying to see them go by day to day within pellet rifle range knowing hearing Atticus Finch in my head and knowing I cant.. but I want to..

I love pretty wild flowers in my lawn. And mossy patches are great to lie on =) Particularly since ticks appear not to like them - they prefer grass.
What is never going to touch my lawn with so much as a toe are garden gmomes. Nightmarish creatures and 99 out of 100 are utterly distasteful. I make an exception for one from around 1900 (propably belonged to my great-grandparents) : old chap with fishing rod, glasses and open book. He's nice and quiet and doesn't offend.

@Gary Mitchell only that very old one. The modern ones are abominations invented and sold by people who came from a hostile planet (propably Nestenes) or smoked foreign herbs.

My HOA won't allow ANY garden statues visible from the street.

If I was able to do any yard art at all, and had the disposable income for it, I'd get a set of figures from Plants vs Zombies, and arrange them in my yard like the game was in progress.

 Well, his surname is that of a bird, so he's probably a bit biased.
Just keep in mind that they remember faces and hold grudges.;)

I'm fine with social media, but some people are just WAY too heavy in it. They have to take selfies of themselves all the time or do live videos of themselves all the time. They take selfies with their friends, selfies with their animals, selfies while eating, live video of themselves on the dance floor, live video of themselves at parties etc etc.eyc.. It's like....we get it. You are beautiful and you are in love with yourself. But enough already.

At work we had to institute rules on cell phones because the younger guys spend too much work time texting and playing games. Horrible work ethics.
