Would have cheered for the Expos before the move - ironically, in the only two MLB games I've seen live, I saw the Expos beat the Jays at the big O, then a few years later saw the Jays beat the Nationals at the Rogers Centre - but now I guess if I want to see any MLB team do well, it would probably be the Blue Jays by default.

Not to say that I'd go as far as to actively support them, mind you.

(Though, for some odd reason, I wonder if anyone has an NPB team they like - do the Hanshin Tigers of Yomiuri Giants have their TrekBBS followings?)

Twinkies all the way.

If we could cast a vote in each division, I'd say the Brewers for the NL. Now that they're no longer a division rival of the Twins, I can kind of root for them. It may take a decade or two, but I'm hoping to see a Twins/Brewers World Series some day!

Word.

I can`t wait till we smack John Smotz around Sunday at big Shea. We already took 2 out of 3 from Philly in Philly and now its the Braves turn.

Man, you are the arrogant Mets fan aren't you? Its like they can do no wrong. ;) And they aren't even the best team in the NL.

They don't even have the best record in the NL East.

Yeah, every time I see a post its about how the mets are gonna kick someones ass, and what are they now 11-10? Some ass kickery.

Red Sox and Marlins right here. Though I'm also a supporter of the Braves, but Boston and Florida are the two big ones. I grew up with the Red Sox as my team (since we had none in Miami), but had to adopt the Marlins once they came to exist. I went to the Marlins' first three Spring Training games and the entire series with the Dodgers in their inaugural season. Was a lot of fun to watch a team's first ever games with a patched-together roster of cast-offs and kids.

I"m probably the only here who likes Texas, despite another losing streak. I've loved them since the Nolan Ryan days. I don't say much about it around here, I"m afraid I'll get made fun of or something. But they've always been a perfect fit for me. After reading the book Seasons in Hell about the 73-75 seasons under Whitey Herzog and Billy Martin, I realized it's probably never going to change, until we get some real leadership in the front office. I'm pretty sure the Alex Rodriguez deal really set us back years. They were close to contender level when he came in, then nothing. He's been a jinx for the Yankees ever since.

I"m too old to start bandwagoning some other team. And knowing my luck, the moment I do, it's going to be like that scene in Office Space where Peter is in the slow lane, then he moves into the faster moving lane, and it suddenly stops, then the former lane starts fast tracking it on.

I already get to be his rival. I'm a Phillies fan, I cheer whenever the Mets lose :D

That being said, I also cheer when the Braves lose :p

That's alright. I saw the Phillies playing the Mets on ESPN and was hoping for a nuclear bomb.

I can understand this feeling. That's about how I feel whenever I watch a Colorado/San Diego or Colorado/St. Louis game.

Can also totally understand this. My Dad's family is originally from the Chicago area. We've also attended many a spring training game for the Cubs going back to when we first moved to Phoenix back in the 70s.

So, when Phoenix was awarded a team, I adopted them. But I'll always follow and cheer for the Cubs too. As my Dad once told me, once a Cubs fan, always a Cubs fan.

Chicago Cubs. As one of my former ministers once noted, Wrigley Field is about as close to heaven as you can come on this earth.

Amen. Preach it, brother. The only other park I've been in that feels even close is Dodger Stadium.

I loves me some Metropolitans baseball!

(I have a man crush on Mr. Met!)

Mr. Met: Everything a mascot should be, and so much more!

As a kid I grew up rooting for the Sox [living in Groton, CT and Newport, RI] and the Senators. Like all navy families we ended up in Norfolk, VA - home of the Mets' AAA farm team. I saw Mook, Darryl, Backman, Brooks, etc. as minor leaguers and later worked at the park.

My uncle worked for Vince Piazza and remembers when Vince flew Ted Williams up from the Keys to watch Mike play in jr. high. Ted said Mike had much more talent than he had at that age. Vince wanted Mike to experience a real job, so he worked one summer for my uncle. Nice guy. Mike, not Vince.

Ah... I've found my rival.

I went to the game where Johan Santana got smacked around. What a waste he is. :D

That game drove me crazy. If Jake Peavy went 7 plus innings and gave up 1 run while the other starter was out after 5 you can put the San Diego win in the bank, but not the Mets. They like to bend over for the Braves.
