Three times they remake this movie. I would have loved to have seen a sequel.

No seriously, it's not perfect but, I really love the 1978 film. The 1956 version would be second.

I like the 1978 version. It's the one I saw first and the one that freaked me the fuck out when I was a kid.

'78 version apparently heavily features San Francisco. Mix in Nimoy, Goldblum and Sutherland, and that's pretty much an automatic win.

(Though I did kinda enjoy one reviewer's snark on The Invasion, which was roughly: "If you're gonna do a movie about people becoming soulless automaton's, shouldn't your resistor-hero be a little more emotive than Nicole Kidman?!")

The 1978 version. I love the original too, but I think it was great that the remake tried something different and set it in San Francisco. In some ways, that was more frightening. I thought the lead characters were better developed as well. And I just love the ending.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers 1956 and 1978 have always been important films to me as are The Thing 1951 and 1982.
