This one is about what is up for you in the coming week!

I have to go get something funny from a friend tomorrow

On another day I have to help a friend carry a new fridge -and a new stove- up to their flat.

Those are the only things I know to be "hard" -how about you?

Hmmmmmm

I am going to carry on learning how to ride a bike. I have the hang of moving and balancing now, but steering and braking are proving interesting challenges.

On Sunday I am going to have my first motorbike lesson (not unrelated to the above)

I am part way through installing a water tank in the backyard and hope to get some more work done there.

I am going to go to the local university, shoot some pool and cause mayhem.

I may well defacate at some stage too.

I will continue to wait for a phone call to set up a certain job interview. Besides that I will do a few hours of working from home at my thrilling part time internet research job. I will also watch a lot of movies since we have a free preview of Showtime and other movie channels this week. I plan to crochet some socks while watching episodes of Bones and Law and Order: SVU. And look for other job openings as well. I should finish reading Uncle Tom's Cabin this week as well, so I face the exciting prospect of choosing a new book to read on my Kindle.

I get to see my girlfriend for the first time in five years, and for the first time period since we reconnected. We're planning to make it a weekly event for now, until we live closer to one another and can see each other more frequently.

I also will begin a more exhaustive job search, now that the final affairs from my time in Japan have been largely sorted and dealt with.

steering and braking are proving interesting challenges.

Once you've tried a couple of times I'm sure you'll find it as easy as I do -Do remember that it's the transport method of the future: eventually only the VERY rich will be able to pay for gasoline -and we all know what happens to the VERY rich during revolutions

I know, it's the reality and we all will have to find a way to deal with it.

My reality is that I will be without any form of motorised propulsion in a couple of weeks and I want to be ready for it

I will continue learning how to play guitar, and somehow reconcile that with my homework. I've been stockpiling scrap wood for a sanshin, and hopefully when my scale-model house is complete I can start work on that without hindrance. All of this needs to be balanced with my addiction to Minecraft...

Nothing special, generally. Work, training for the Five Boro Bike Tour, painting, studying for the GREs.
Tuesday I'm meeting a woman in publishing about my book. No guarantees, but a step in the right direction. Saturday there's a party at a friend's.

With any luck, I'll get at least two days of work (Tuesday-Wednesday), and on Thursday, I go downtown to get this horrid cyst-thingy off my shoulder. It's about the size of a quarter, but the color has changed, so doc is going to remove it. She said she was pretty sure it was just a cyst, so no biggie there, but she also said removing it will hurt and involve stitches--right on the joint of my shoulder. I'm bringing hubby with me, so I won't have to drive home.

Monday and Friday are my own, with not much to do but housework.

Need to file my taxes which I've been procrastinating on.

I hope to get out and do some photography if the weather permits.

Busy start to the week today:

- did some work, so feel like I've made my quota of necessary income for the week (whatever else I do work-wise over the rest of the week will be gravy).
- dropped off some dry cleaning
- gave a couple of items for alteration/repair at the tailor's
- ordered a new made-to-measure linen suit
- browsed the fabric books a little further for ideas re: a bespoke suit I plan to order towards the end of summer
- bought some groceries at the supermarket, on the way home.

That's more activity than I like to do in an entire week, so I'm feeling rather tired tonight!

Looking ahead, my only other fixed appointment is a long-lunch/afternoon walk with a friend on Thursday. Another friend has rainchecked on a similar plan for Friday, so that's now free. I will almost inevitably do a bit more work on some of the days ahead, because they tend to call me every now and then. Oh, and I'll have to pick up the dry cleaning at some point. Apart from that, I suspect I'll have tea or dinner with other friends at some point, but that's not locked down yet. I usually have a lazy afternoon or two reading the paper in the cafe over an average week too.

Helping my teenage cousin find a studio to rent (she's returned to the country after a decade's absence). And generally mentoring her in leading an independent life - she's been through a lot. She's going to need a lot of help learning how to cook, clean, grocery shop, pay bills, find a job, all the stuff of being an adult... she's excited for herself, and so am I. She's a little young at 16, but it's the best possible solution for her right now. That is going to be pretty "hard", but very worthwhile I think.

Can't think of anything else I have fixed and planned ahead right now. Oh, it's my birthday this coming week - I think my young brother and sister will probably want to have a mini birthday party with me, as they have done the previous years. Then I'll probably go out to a special dinner with a friend. I usually wait till the weather is good for it though, I'm not too fussy about celebrating it on a precise day. Last year, my birthday was grey, cold and wet, but the following day was absolutely beautiful, and I celebrated with an entire day out with the kids, they were very good at pretending which was the day of my birth.

Monday -- Work the usual hours; Lions Club in the evening (and they even behaved!)
Tuesday -- Work the usual hours; vote. Family time at night (something I haven't had on a Tuesday in ages)
Wednesday -- Work the usual hours; take the child to karate; Evening Prayer at church followed by choir practice.
Thursday -- Jazz Band before school, then work the usual hours; take the child to Spanish lesson; family time at night, maybe get a sitter and hit the casino.
Friday -- Work the usual hours (sneak out with the cherubs at 3:24); nothing special planned. Hockey if the Fighting Saints are at home, casino if not (if we can find a sitter).

That's my week. Nothing special, thank the gods!

Currently waiting for the plummer to come and fix blocked kitchen sink. My appointed time is 12 - 5pm, can they not narrow it down a bit? Now I desperately want to go out for no other reason than I can't!
Rest of the week will be work and trying to resist the compulsion to hit co-worker over the head with the blender

Got hunky young neighbour to come down with his plunger () on Saturday when I came home to find washing up bowl bobbing around in sink. Hunk obviously didn't know the 'plug overflow hole' trick and ended up with a soaking wet vest. At least I didn't offer to wash it for him as Man came home to find us laughing and drinking beer. Walking in on such a sight he promptly walked up the Hunk and asked for plumbing advice

Plumber has diagnosed an overdose of fat in my pipes ~ I wonder if this has anything to do with Son's new love of bacon and fried egg sandwiches?

I have given him lessons on the kitchen roll/frying pan procedure

I now have to wait for a Man with a Big Rod to come out ~ I'm sorry I can't help it but it's like a cheap 'saucy' film ~ can't decide whether to call it 'carry on plumbing' or 'carry on plunging'
