What is the ugliest ship in starfleet?

hey guys,
a friend and i got into a descussion about what starship was the least appealing and i thought i'd get you to give your opinions :)

The Intrepid class, i.e. Voyager. This isn't meant to bash the show or anything but the ship looks like an upside down unbalanced spoon. You have this big, long saucer section with tiny nacelles and a small secondary hull and the uneveness of the design looks more apparent when the nacelles move upward while in warp space.

I should add that the Enterprise D also looks unbalanced (wide saucer and all) but the design looks more elegant.

Voyager's atrophied little nacelles always make me grimace. The ship would be lovely if it had engines more akin to the Sovereign class, or the downswept runabout-style ones from the early Voyager prototype.

DS9's Defiant isn't ugly, but it doesn't look anything like a Federation ship.

The holoship in Insurrection was a shoebox with greebles.

I used to think the exact same thing (for the exact same reasons), so I respect your opinion, but somehow Voyager has become my favourite Trek ship now. Go figure! Much like the Enterprise D, it definitely has it's bad angles, but now I really appreciate the way the primary and secondary hulls flow into each other, and I love the deflector dish shape.
But definitely each to his own :techman:

Any ship that was created on the spur of the moment due to budgetary issues. This includes most everything in the ship graveyard of Wolf 359 and a lot of DS9's stuff.

The original Constitution-class. Pretty easy decision.
You will rot in hell after God gets you for that.

Really ugly:
Nebula-class
Daedalus-class
Intrepid-class (Voyager)
Abramsprise

and a whole host of kitbashes seen in the background.

While I agree that the ugliest ship is the Yeagher class, the Steamrunner and Norway class ships introduced for ST:FC were also both pretty damn hideous.

Definitely the Abramsprise. It’s the classic Constitution-class deformed and distorted in a drug-induced hallucination, with details tacked on by Harley J. Earl as a practical joke.

I go for the kitbashes slapped together for DS9's Dominion War. Not only are some of those ships ungainly, but some of them look downright unsafe, IMO...

Almost every variation and incarnation of the Constitution (including the ones in STO) look so similar that I can't really call any one of them out as ugly.

With that said...

For kitbashes: Yaeger
For straight-up designs: the holoship and the Oberth

I appreciated Intrepid's smaller, sleeker, more streamlined look, but I agree with others that the nacelles look disproportionately small compared to the rest of the ship. As well, from certain angles (particularly when it passes up the final planet in the title sequence), it looks more like a sombrero than the ones plastered all over with photoshop :)

The Prometheus is okay, but at times it looks like a turkey with FOUR legs.
