In terms of sheer scope you'd be hard pressed to beat Metallica's face-meltingly awesome "Orion."

I'd say The Call of Ktulu is right up there too.

Speaking of awesomeness, epic and mashups, you guys might know.

I've been trying to find a mashup which I think was done by someone called DJ Dangerous Orange. It combined Johnny Cash doing the Nine Inch Nails' song 'Hurt', Blue Oyster Cult's 'Don't Fear The Reaper', and Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'. And it works, and it is epic.

If anyone knows where it is, let me know!

If we're talking Morricone, then I'd have to say that this is one of the most epic pieces of music I've ever heard, from one of the best films ever made...



...and I'd be remiss if I didn't qualify that by mentioning Metallica's brilliant use of it as an opener to their shows. Here's the opening from the S&M show they did with Michael Kamen and the San Fransisco Symphony Orchestra...
