Coto wanted to revisit the Mirror Universe on a regular basis with four or five episodes spread through the season as a "mini-series within a series." Mike Sussman and Coto had discussed places to go with it and it was "big regret" not getting chance
The two main things they wanted to do with S5 was the "origins of the Federation" and the "begin whispers of the Romulan War", and tying those two together
No other major villains were planned to be introduced, the Romulans were going to be the big villain, but would have new ones within new ‘mini-arcs’
Rick and Brannon thought Future Guy was "probably going to be a Romulan" and would tie into the Romulan War with a future Romulan trying to "instigate" things
They wanted to make Shran a regular character on the bridge of the NX-01 as an "auxiliary or an advisor…get Jeffrey [Combs] Somehow"
It's this above all else that keeps me awake at night... knowing my favourite Trek series had all this yet to come. Pretty much amounts to my idea of heaven, at least as far as this longstanding Star Trek fan is concerned.
Have to be frank here, i think theres more chance of them using shatner as kirk again in the next movie than Enterprise coming back.
I just hope they release some new novels soon, even that has dried up badly.
....you have to wonder does someone at Paramount/CBS hate Enterprise that much to not make that money?
Horses for courses, really. TNG and DS9 were syndicated to countless non-Paramount owned stations and therefore seen in more homes. Besides being given a seemingly permanent home on SyFy, Enterprise was only granted one measly year in syndication for 2005-06... consisting of Broken Bow, Regeneration, Carbon Creek and all of Season 4. A stopgap measure, to tide stations over while CBS were busy working to get The Original Series Remastered rolled out in High Def. They never had any plans to take all whole four seasons nationwide, if you ask me.That's my understanding of it, sadly, yes.
ENT brought many things to Trek, but it did not bring home the bacon.
That's heartening, for those of us who think Ent deserved a 7-year run like all the other shows. It may not have been financially feasible (UPN, gaaaa), but still.ORIGINAL SERIES Season 4 (32%)387 votes

Except for Voyager, poor thing. A sad testament to the way TPTB messed with the wonderful potential of that series and lowered expectations to zero by the end. (Ohhh, don't get me started. The majority of voting occured from the outset putting ENT in an early lead, stirring sleeping giants to be more proactive for other series.
I wouldn't dare. I'm taking my cue from that Tim Russ outtake from Innocence...(Ohhh, don't get me started.)
