Hi,
so, briefly, I disregard new ST movies, as I like original time line way more and I adore 90's ST series and take them as a true ST for me.
As for STD, I wasnt hoping for much, but I had faith.
I can get pass klingon's looks, 2000 km space suit flight, mediocre fan service (Picard-like captain, ...), people not behaving so noble.
But in second episode of STD, battle occured and there was the dealbreaker for me... no phaser beams. Iconic sound and weapon of ST for me, but all I'm seeing are pew pew blasters like I'm watching Star wars instead.
Then I've cooled off, and started looking for some answers and ended up here.
So... I realise Shenzhou is old ship, but there were others even seemingly Miranda class USS Europa, yet ... they were all firing those pesky blasters ... so is that like not a thing in that time yet (tech-wise)?
In my eyes so far, STD is a good sci-fi show but lousy Star Trek.
PS: whats the BB code for spoilers here?
