What inspired your non-Star Trek username / nickname?

12 years ago I had to pick an IRC nick. I thought teacake sounded quite fetching and also amused me because at the time I was a bit of a net troll so I liked the contrast. I've used it online ever since and it's really a second name to me now. If someone called it out in the street I would turn around, lol.

I love Garak as a character, plus when I registered, it was the off season and I was thinking the upcoming season and how the Eels would go. It wasn't a good season, after making it to the grand final in 2001.

He probably would. Doubtful if Garak would like any human sport. Really never thought about it.

It's pronounced just like the word 'Eyes'. I only put in that last bit to confirm my nickname isn't actually 'Eyes'. It's 'Iz', but that's only the spelling, it's still pronounced the same.

I always say that if I wanted my nickname to be pronounced 'is', I would have spelt it 'Is'.

Years and years ago, when I first played Zelda 64 in 1998 (I was 14 years old) I wrote the name "Daniel" -- and then randomly erased the "iel" in favor of "oz" because, at the time, I thought it sounded cool or medieval or something. The first online forum I ever used was Vimm.net's emulation message board, and I found myself using the same handle. Twelve years later I am still using "Danoz" for virtually any activity that calls for a nickname.

Well, it only lasted for about a year, but it was fun especially when I was 13! Hosted at the same place as Multiplayer Battletech and AirWarrior back then.
