What inspired your non-Star Trek username / nickname?

This is the name I used at PsiPhi's DS9 board back in 8th grade, and I liked kestrels. Partly for the bird itself and partly from a game I played at the time. When I registered here, I figured it was still as good a name as any.

Also, I enjoy people randomly confusing me with Kestra for an ego boost. ;)

I wanted a name that was good when writing things on the 'net, since I would never use my real name. The 'J' stands for Jezibell, a name I've always loved. Ashmore just seemed to go with it!

Satyrquaze is a name I've used in multiple places around the net.

'Satyr' is a nickname I got during my college years.

-'Quaze' is a nickname of my favorite comicbook character.

I think you're just making me look smarter, honestly.

I always read your name in my head as "SatyrGaze" which makes little sense. And is slightly creepy.

My nickname. Altered to look vaguely sci-fi / spelt phonetically / whatever reason I give as to why it's 'Eyes' and not 'Iz'.

Although there was a Star Trek character named "Gary Seven", I didn't intentionally reference it when chosen. My name is Gary. As for the number... "The Number 7 has for ages been regarded as the Number of mystery relating to the spiritual side of things." But it also has much mathematical significance. My reason for choosing it is actually more mundane. I just like the sound of it, over all of the other single digit numbers. ;)

So... wait, is your username supposed to be pronounced like "is," then? Or "ayes?"

Kirby is my dog (although not the dog in my avatar for some strange reason). I used to lurk here all the time and when I finally got up the nerve to finally post I had a brain lock on a user name.
I really wanted Mr. Zero (reference to When Harry Met Sally) or Agent Zero (reference to Seinfeld), but in a desparate attempt to get signed up I looked down at my dachshund puppy sleeping at my feet and went with Kirby.

Kirby, by the way is named after Kirby Puckett, the great Minnesota Twins player; not the comic writer or the little video game guy.

Would that game have been Klingon Academy? Would the ship have been the Constitution class U.S.S. Kestrel? :D

:alienblush: You're too kind.

Actually no, though that's cool too. The game was Starship Troopers: Battlespace which was a short-lived late 90s online game where you flew around as either Federation or Bug ships blowing each other up. The Kestrel was the smallest and fastest Fed ship.
