"What If...?"

Hahahahahaha! :guffaw:That's so much like one of those NK propaganda Cartoons (I guess that's what it's modelled after?), complete with creepy little girls singing some deceptively upbeat song. Very well animated too.
Though since when do the Klingons allow lowly tribute species into their Empiral Fleet? Or did I misunderstand and we'd just have the "honour" of being cannon fodder in battles? Or maybe serve as living "stress-balls" to our Klingon masters Benevolent Leaders?
Thanks for posting that! I'm only gonna watch it five more times....today.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! :barf:
The video was made by TrekBBS member @Mark 2000. It definitely fits with the idea of TOS and movie-era Klingons as a stand-in for Cold War powers. :klingon:

We never do see any non-Klingons in their fleet (I mean besides that exchange program with Riker). But logistically, and comparing with real-world empires, if they only allowed Klingons in their armed forces, they would probably be spread too thin to maintain control. It would make sense for them to incorporate the locals, but maybe just at lower levels and not allowing them to become high-ranking officers.

Kor

Then a bunch of people would've made far less money, since there would have been no the Wrath of Khan, the Search for Spock, the Voyage Home, etc.

Maybe, maybe not...Star Trek II: Captain Spock vs. Khan, Star Trek III: The Search for Scotty...etc...

What if.... Picard and Deanna would fall in love with each other?

That might create a nice atmosphere on the bridge with Riker sitting right next to them. It wouldn't be a secret, captain's quarters would become a love nest for the couple. Riker is looking through pictures of Picard's ex girlfriends to get even. When Picard finds out about it he simply says to Riker: ”Apparently you don't want to be a captain of your own starship, ever? Keep that in mind before you start planning anything with my ex girlfriends.” When the Borg capture Picard, Riker's first reaction is: ”Fine, keep him.” However as he still hopes Deanna might eventually return to him he must at least try to rescue Picard and succeeds. Deanna: "Thank you Will, what can I do to thank you?” Riker: ”Well, dump him.” As Picard learns of this Riker will the scrubbing toilets. But he did save him so.... ”get back here my first officer.” They become best friends.

Data doesn't understand: ”I do not understand, human coupling rituals are extremely complicated.” Wesley: ”I'll explain it later, dumb robot.”

Little later Leah Brahms sues Geordi for using her holoimage inappropriately. Geordi is imprisoned on Risa. What a pity. After Geordi is released he stays on Risa.

Soon after Worf learns he has a son. The custody battle is ugly. Where is the honor? Gowron and Duras move in together and get the custody.

Romulan star empire would close its borders from outsiders and no contact with anyone as they winessed how interspecies romance (Picard & Troi) can get too sugary.

Ferengi Alliance will become the most powerful and richest empire ever as they learn how Picard and Deanna got together and use that succesfull formula to create their own online galaxy wide dating application.

Beverly still hates Picard because of the loss of her husband Jack. She sends Picard a monthly letter ”It should have been you”.

All that would happen if Picard and Deanna fell in love. Butterfly effect you know?

What if the Romulans had made a clone of Picard to take his place and later after they changed their minds about it sent the clone to slave in the mines of Remus but that clone was in fact a genius that managed to secure a ship more advanced than anything the Romulans could make at that time and then took over the Romulan government and decided to take revenge on humans for... well, no reason and then... Nah, too far-fetched!

Well, except of course for the 'will protect your planet from the influences and decadence of democracy' - even the democratic people's republic of Korea would have a bit of trouble selling that slogan :)

Another 'what if'...

What if, in Macrocosm, a few of the crewmembers refused to be inoculated by the Doctor, since they didn't trust the vaccine (*) he developed, or thought it was an infringement of their freedoms?

(* I'd say it's actually more of a cure than a vaccine, but the Doctor refers to it by both terms )

What if they had gone thru with the idea to have Will Riker die and be replaced by Tom Riker.

As he would have the trauma of being left behind on an away mission, he'd never demand his Captain not to go on an away mission

Well, he wouldn't be the first officer, he's just a Lieutenant. I think Data would have become the first officer, and Tom would have taken over Data's old station.

Now that you say it ... never thought about it quite that way. He must have lived all those years before he was rescued with the question 'why did they never even bother to search for me?'

Honestly, He should have gotten promoted, as he was doing the exactly same thing as the Riker that got beamed back. Riker got that promotion for his actions on the planet, not because he beamed back...

Okay, I will preface this by saying I don't pay all that much attention to their ranks, but...

wouldn't that still only make him a Lieutenant-Commander rather than a Commander like Will is?
