TNG went a little wild though

I keep expecting to hear Harvey Korman call someone "Dum Dum"I actually quite like this design, though maybe I'm in the minority. I like that they thought about making the head 'alien' in a way other than putting bumpy bits on their foreheads. Extended craniums!
Maybe to some it looks silly, but I'm fond of it. Same in the second picture.
While the forehead ridges are repetitive, this looks hard to take seriously
You take Star Trek seriously?![]()
Wasn't that Andorian just a holographic creation that Lal might want to use as her new appearance?
Yes, but it was still the actual design for Andorians in the TNG era, as awful as it was.Wasn't that Andorian just a holographic creation that Lal might want to use as her new appearance?

I don't mind the green skin color, it makes sense if aliens have variations in skin color like humans. That the hair and clothing down to the shoes is green too bothers me much more.Sadly yes. They couldn't even get the color right
They have the skin color right in "Captain's Holiday". I assume the greeness was some sort of holodeck thing. Or maybe there is a greenskinned Andorian variant. Imagine "Star Trek: Excelsior" being the show that introduced Trekkies to Tuvok, as the young Vulcan dweeb of the cast.I think a Captain Sulu show could've worked. It's not like the TNG cast had a lot of star power when it began
