What if "the burn" isn't related to Omega or "Force of Nature" but to DS9?

A shame. At least Alexander Rozhenko and some rather unknown secondary characters like Kirk and Spock from a show called TOS were always played by the same actors :D

You mean actors who physically resembled each other and had minimal to no changes in backstory? Yep, Maddox as played by John Ales fits that category to a T :D

This is my opening to say I think Bruce Maddox in Picard looked more like he could've been Harry Mudd's great-grandson instead of Maddox.

How hard would it have been to find an actor who looked more like Brian Brophy even if they couldn't get him back?

Finding an actor who resembled Brian Brophy was probably super low on their list of priorities.

I no longer think this has anything to do with "The Omega Directive" (VOY) and never thought it had to do with "Force of Nature" (TNG). I think it's more likely to have to do with the very end of the Temporal War, which never saw in ENT.
Nice idea, like the federation attempted to close all wormholes in the galaxy.

The Prophets, in their celestial temple, transcend all of time and space. Maybe this melody is their warning that the Pah Wraiths are free again or heralding the return of the Sisko or a new emissary (Burnham?)...

It was kind of clever to give him a beard.

I assumed that "the Burn" would turn out to somehow involve Michael or her mother, via more time travel mumbo jumbo. As soon as I heard "the Burn" I figured the big twist would be that it got it's name from "Burnham."

Well we know from "Unification III", the dilithium shortage was basically the Federation's fault, but as for the Burn, they are indirectly responsible for that as well cause if they didn't go nuts with their dilithium, they wouldn't have tasked all the members worlds for new alternate ways to travel, but at the same time, somebody is to blame for that and I can't wait to see who in "The Sanctuary".

Actually it was stated that the dilithium shortage was in PART because of how large the Federation was... still, this clashes with the idea that 350 member worlds would dry up the whole galaxy with technical efficiency in 700 years post the 23rd century (technical efficiency results in you requiring less and less over time until eventually you can do everything with virtually nothing), not to mention science the heck out of finding an alternate power source (which they had plenty to choose from in the late 24th century alone... and 600 freaking years to develop it - the writers just chose to ignore all that though for the sake of fitting it with their story).

Will be interesting to see who caused the Burn... and why.

I might have them stabilize the Barzan wormhole as their own

(technical efficiency results in you requiring less and less over time until eventually you can do everything with virtually nothing)

Actually, all the evidence we have suggests the exact opposite happens. Living has never been as inefficient as it is today, and with every eco-friendly gadget, it gets even worse. The illusion of efficiency may end up being a prime reason for why the true efficiency of living plummets to extinction-level depths in no time flat...

Dilithium is nice for warp travel. It supposedly has other uses, too, though. The first time we hear about it, it's quickly expended in the operating of shields and transporters. Might be the more efficient dilithium-based energy converters became, the more of those were adopted, till the dilithium expenditure per capita skyrocketed and bankrupted the Federation.
