What if Marina Sirtis was in DS9???

as for why Troi is always blamed id prolly assume old fashioned sexism toward women and car crash's. + even if the saucer could stay in Orbit it prolly wouldn't last long anyways or maybe the force from the explosion of the Stardrive section made it impossible to attain a orbit and knocked it out of the planet Viridian atmosphere and according to the TNG tech manual her only recourse is to to crash land the saucer section :)

I prescribe to the explanation that empathy doth not a good pilot make.

These are excellent manips and I always thought that a Troi guest appearance would be great. I'm a fan of Marina and the character and think she would mix well with the DS9 crew frankly. We know from Trek Lit that they have counsellors. It would have also been nice to have the writers touch on Worf and Deanna's relationship one last time instead of the awkward moment on the Enterprise E when Bev announces him :)

Enough with the lazy, slightly misogynistic, potshots. Troi had nothing to do with the ship crashing. They wanted the ship destroyed and it would have been even if they had Jesus Christ at the wheel. Arguably lives were saved BECAUSE she took action.

I second that! (and as my case proves one can be a Niner and a Troy fan)

As for the pics: totally spiffy!! I love them.

I think Troy would have been pretty good at DS9. She might have been able to stop Dukat, the Founders and the Vorta in time or to help the Jem'Hadar get over their addiction. And dealing with Klingons might actually have been quite relaxing for her as they tend to not suppress their feelings and therefore are easy to read.
And Odo would have loved her to monitor Quark's buisness transactions *snicker*

DS9 would a good place for her to be, she can't crash that place into the ground so easily.. :p;)

Honestly, I'd be more concerned about the collective piloting skills of the DS9 crew. Not only did they lose a ship, but they've crashed more than their fair share of runabouts. :p

Thanks for the compliments. :) It was a lot fun making it, and seeing how it evolved from the first attempt to the final line-up.

Going by the scene in GEN, I would say that's exactly what happens. A warp core breach is going to very destructive, and throw out a massive shockwave (such as it did in the film). The saucer was only seconds away, no way far enough to be minimum safe distance. I doubt any pilot could have escaped it just at impulse.

Maybe she joined the station in S4 instead of Worf. That could have been interesting.

Also I'm pretty sure that statistics say women are safer drivers than men.

Also I'm pretty sure that statistics say women are safer drivers than men.

Troi drove the ship twice, and crashed it twice within seconds of getting to do so.

As for the statistics, it's based on a bit of a fallacy (and is a fairly old report). Per mile, women have worse driving records, but men drive a LOT more miles. This is a very dated study (late 1970s, I think) made at a time where women typically didn't work, and have very limited driving time or experience.

Last I saw was an insurance report that had the most accidents per mile was still women, slightly, but that the over-50 crowd of either gender was by far the worst drivers on the road.

Pure. Awesome.

Please do more! :D
