What if Ds9 had did a more traditional mirror universe ep.

By that I mean a episode or episodes were the human empire didn't fall apart and thus the ep was more of a sequel than a complete alterations of the universe we saw on TOS. What would you have liked to have seen?

The way I see it is that they could have the Empire take over the station after they have just crushed and enslaved the Cardissians. Sisko would would be a disgraced Starfleet captain who uses his role as Emissary to become a God to the Bajorans. He wants to give them freedom if they allow him to become the ulimate ruler of the planet. Jadzia is his first officer . Kira is part of the restiance who wants to overthrow him and is worried her people will accept him as their God. O'brien and Bashir are married and are running some horrible medical and science experiments on Odo. Quark is a cook and waiter and Rom owns the bar. Jake is spoiled rich kid who hates his dad do him being a disgrace and being sent to terok Nor and is hooked on drugs. Instead of a baseball this Sisko keeps Dukats severed head on his desk which he severed when he took control of the station from the Carddisians.

I liked the Mirror Universe episodes that we got. They should have stopped after the third one though where they build the Defiant. After that they were pretty bad.

The DS9 mirror universe episodes seem to get a bad rap. The first three are great and "The Emperors New Cloak" has its moments. Resurrection is more dull than bad.

if i have to be honest all the mirror universe episodes sucked after the first episode "Crossover" I was dissapointed with every further installment.

Crossover was fine, but they rapidly went down hill from there. It should have been just a one-time outing in my opinion, unless they they got Nimoy to reprise the role of bearded Mirror Spock. Now THAT would have been a Mirror episode worth doing for DS9!

Id have liked to actually see the 24th century Terran Empire in all its gory glory. Being REALLY bad. Maybe to the point where they destroy a planet from orbit.

Me too. "Crossover" wasn't bad, but I never liked the idea of the Empire being just gone all of a sudden. It's like writing a story set 10 years after the United States has ceased to be a superpower, then pretending like there was little fallout from that change. At the least, they could have shown an Empire that was crumbling, with Kira and Bashir having to choose which evil was lesser to get home.

Did they ever state when the Empire fell? Maybe they were still around in some form like a few leftover ships or something. I wonder what the Dominion was like in the mirror universe.

It was never explicitly stated, although Mirror Kira said that Spock's counterpart was instrumental in bringing about reforms which weakened the Empire. Interestingly, DC Comics' Mirror Universe Saga, which was originally published in the '80s as a movie-era sequel to "Mirror, Mirror," did leave the impression that the Empire might be defeated or at least reformed under Mirror Spock, with this happening after the events of TSFS. That was the most recent movie at the time.

Yeah, according to a recent mirror universe Trek novel (consisting of novellas from each major era of Trek), mirror Spock created some sort of shadow insurgency that would build up over the centuries. He wanted the Empire to die. It was all part of his Harry Seldon-esque plans.

Step one: take control of the empire
Step two: create secret bases in moons throughout Empire territories (using the Genesis device)--store supplies, weapons, scientists, philosophers, etc.
Step three: weaken the empire enough so that it can be enslaved by foreign powers
Step four: get assassinated/become a martyr (have Sarek take over)
Step five: wait a few generations for humans (in particular) to forget the ways of the Empire and begin thinking about rebellion
Step six: use secret bases to take over the Alpha Quadrant in the establishment of a new freedom-based federation that would live on for centuries (if not millenia)

The most important element of his insurgency would be the Vulcans. He used mind-melds to spread his vision of peace throughout Vulcan civilization. As slaves, the Vulcans would be the best of servants. They would continue secretly teaching their children Spock's vision (via mind-meld), and, when the time was right, they would be in key places throughout the quadrant.

In the MUS, our crew essentially found a way to disable much of the Imperial fleet (at least temporarily), as well as fleets lent by the mirror Klingons and Romulans when they turned on our crew. It was suggested that at least some of the ships would be turned over to the resistance movement, led by Marlena Moreau and David Marcus. Personally I like the whole setup that's done with Mirror Spock, because it's revealed that he developed a hidden jealousy towards his counterpart. While our Spock had the freedom to join a peaceful Federation and effectively live as a true Vulcan, Mirror Spock had to be cold and ruthless to survive in the Empire. The two later reconciled during a meld, when Mirror Spock tried to obtain information on Genesis from his counterpart (since Spock had been revived by the Genesis wave). It was also mentioned that both Sarek and Amanda were killed by the Empire in the MU, and that Spock betrayed them.

I like the idea of going back to the MU and the first three episodes of DS9's version were ok, but I think it went downhill. :cardie::klingon:

The best way they could have done it is in the Mirror Universe a Changling from the Gamma Quadrant (Odo) comes through as an explorer. The Empire kills him and is invading the Gamma quadrant. Basically show the Empire as the Dominion, and the Dominion as the good guys.

I hope we will eventually get to see that happen.

What i could never understand is how they held off the alliance for over 2 years and to boot the station was orbiting Bajor who was also part of the alliance!! Even with the Defiant (another huge problem ) they can hold off the Klingons, the Cardys and the Bajorans who were on the planet below them!!!!!!! This made absolutly no sense what so ever!

DS9 has engines which can move the station if need be, although I think we only saw that happen once (the pilot episode).

And the alliance was mainly between the Cardassians and the Klingons. Bajor was not as important a member as those.
